Congrats on the boat. Wish there were a few more of those around here to try and get.

Congrats on the boat. Wish there were a few more of those around here to try and get. marty They are rare as hens teeth here, with only 5 in the country. The SF3300 is a different matter as the local Melbourne Jeanneau dealer has delivered 5 of them in the past 9 months.

Hoppy, Not sure how many are here in the US/Canada area. Probably half a dozen at most. I know of one 3600 locally, no 3300's as of yet that I know of here. Could be wrong on that one.

Welcome back Hoppy I see there are quite a few familiar names still posting. Well, after 2.5years of being boatless after selling my Sun Odyssey 40, today my offer was accepted and I have just signed the purchase agreement on a new to me, used Jeanneau yacht. I'm excited to put an end to crewing on others boats and to be honest, returning to Jeanneau ownership was not something I really anticipated. Not telling what I bought for now

Made a slight change of plans with the boat. Cancelling any plans to deliver her to Melbourne and we are accelerating my plan to move the family north to Brisbane.
I'm going up to Sydney this weekend to move her to Pittwater. My "crew" sailed in 2 Americas Cup 12m campaigns, raced 100ft maxis and runs a RP 53 racer for its owner. It's going to be a good learning exercise for me.

Hi all,
You wouldn't believe the bad luck I've had with my boat.
Since the sail up to Pittwater in Febuary I have not seen my boat. So many attempts to get to her have been twarted by bad weather, getting house ready for sale and various Covid lockdowns and border closures.... I had to give up hope of sailing it up myself and tried a couple of delivery skippers. Each attempt again failed with the changing border rules...
I've had to resort to getting her trucked up to Brisbane because I have no faith that she can be sailed up here.
Hopefully she'll be here next week.

What a time! Good luck with the trucking and happy sailing when you get there. Just hope Brisbane stays free of lockdowns.

Phew, Hoppy, I thought from your introduction that the boat had gone missing or was damaged, but only the same lockdowns as the rest of us have experienced. Sydney wasn’t the best place to be located though.
It is a bit of a rough start to experiencing a new boat, but it’s looking like you might get some freedom for the summer though. Except for the crossing to Queensland of course.

Right now it's like herding chickens. I think there are now 9 different people/businesses involved in the process that I am having to follow up with, inform or organise.
On the plus side, once I'm on the water, there will be another 3200 and a couple of 3300's to play with.

I had a tricky time getting my new (to me) boat transported from (locked down) Malaysia to (locked down) NZ last year which extended the much-anticipated new boat ‘first meeting’ experience by several months. The good news is that is was worth the pain / effort / wait!
Of course here in NZ we are locked down (again) so like many others we’re all hoping to get some boating freedoms back in time for our Christmas + s.hemisphere summer…

I've just bought a used 3200 in Melbourne.
Shame you left!
I'm wondering about if and if so, how you've setup jack lines? I've seen the 3600s and they run down the side deck ... I'd have thought centre of the boat is better ... just curious.
Cheers Doug

Hi Doug, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase. She should be a fun boat to sail.
We had jacklines supplied and fitted as part of the original purchase. They were put down the sides. Maybe that is just easier, but you are not a lot bigger. But ours have never been tested in anger, and the more investigation I do, the more complex the issues. I hope others with more experience will come along and chip in.
We all look forward to hearing about how she performs and about your experiences, and of course there is a wealth of information here on the forum and friendly like minded sailors willing to help.
Where will you do most of your sailing?
