Has anyone removed the headboards from their boats in order to re-upholster them? Mine are very secure and I'm wondering if they are glued on or screwed on or both. I can't see any screws. They are very difficult to move even slightly so I'm worried about damaging them whilst trying to remove them. The mid-cabin was easy as the headboard was only used Velcro. I have a 2009 Prestige 42s. Thanks

On mine they are secured with pop-out fasteners, but some of the panels are interlocked with others and this means that they need to be popped out in the correct order. There should be a plastic tool somewhere on the boat that makes it easier to pop them out. The tool is about 1cm wide lets you slide into a panel and then pop it out, but any wide and thin piece will do the trick as well.
I just checked to see if I have any pictures, but unfortunately I don't. T

On my boat, I have the covered screws similar to what Zanshin describes. They are only on the outboard (furthest port and starboard) panels. Remove those panels first and you will immediately see what needs to be done to remove the next panel.
Some boats instead use velcro to attach the outboard panels. In that case, you have to pull them down, probably the outer edge. I suspect this can be unnerving, as you might have to apply quite a bit of force.

I just found a picture of my headliner removed. You can see the plastic studs on the outboard side and wooden interlocks on the inboard side.
