I have been trying to get a new key cut for the companionway. All UK locksmiths look at it and shake their heads even though it looks like a Yale to me. The only key I have is unbranded - does anyone know the brand of the lock please? Thank you.

I had the same problem. Eventually bought blanks from Clarke & Carter Interyacht Ltd, Burnham on Crouch 01621785600.
Happy sailing,
Cecil

You can get them cut from Chris at www.suffolklocks.co.uk/he is based at Levington If you are not UK based , Jeanneau dealers should be able to supply blanks Malcolm

I asked my dealer for another key, and they referred me to the factory. After a quote for $18 (US) each for blanks, not including shipping, I decided that two keys were enough.
I'm glad to hear at least some people have access to keys at more reasonable prices.

Not that one would "want" to do this, but is the lock replaceable with a different lockset that has a more common key that the ones Jeanneau uses? Kind of like one would door with an entry door set to your home. my older Jeanneau uses a common key blank I can get at local key/locksmith shops easy enough, along with Home Depot's no less at $2-3 per key!

Not only is finding a key a problem, the screws in the lock-set are tapped into the lexan and two of my screws have cracked the lexan. My boat is still under warranty and I expect my dealer to fix this, but it is a poor design and I think I will eventually need to install a standard hasp.
