For cruisers in the US, what health insurance do you use? Most plans only cover one state and all out of state activity is emergency or uncovered. Thanks!

I don't have any. I tried to get on a plan that some South African friends had but was too old. I pay out of pocket for health care and for the most part it is reasonable around the world or at least the part i have been too. I tore a shoulder tendon in Tunisia and had 2 screws put in to hold it in place. Total cost less than 2Kusd. But prices vary all over. Just had eye surgery in Grenada -- cataracts, shunt to relieve high eye pressure and an interocular lens was about the price if i flew to USA and used Medicare Part B. IF i get back to the USA will get Medicare supplemental as i need a real USA address for that.
as for emergency evac -- i am a certified diver and have DAN. But i think you can get it without being a certified diver.
OH -- i got pneumonia while land travel through Bulgaria and Romania while SoulMates was in Albania. Got treated in Albania for it and got excellent treatment. Cost - zero. That was unacceptable to me but eventually i found a way to make a contribution. And in Israel i had to go to the ER for a potential broken rib. It was not out of the ordinary expense wise - actual cost i forget but reasonable for the care and attention i got.
So overall - do not use the USA medical as any sort of guide to the rest of the world.
