Hi, I’ve noticed this very fine dust under the arm of my autopilot. Should it be greased up?

Doesn't look quite as it should does it, could be a graphite bearing breaking up, not sure if those are used on your set up, or just perishing seals ... or is the bottom seal being eaten by that split pin ? it looks a bit like rubber dust in the picture, what ever, it needs a better look. I would remove the ram end fitting complete with bearing for a closer look. If you deem it dead .... bearing seized etc, I think you can buy a new end with installed sealed bearing from SCS who make rams, they are not expensive and SCS carry a lot of stock, and deliver quickly. Or just pop in a new greased bearing. Good luck CB

Great thanks! I’ll get round to popping it off.
