Hello, I recently bought a beautiful SO35, however the bow hatch leaks and it looks as it is beyond my repair ability. Is a GEBO brand hatch.
Anybody can help with the correct order part?
I can not find the part description anywhere and I don't know how to order the right replacement. Serial number on my boat is FR IRI 313 K304 in case that helps!
Thanks in advance

Hi, I have no nice part numbers for you I'm afraid, but I'll look on my 35 tomorrow and see if there are any clues on my hatch.

Thank you! Even if you can tell me what is the measure, it will help. I am not sure what I need to measure. It should be either 470mm, 510 or 620 "cut out"...but again I am not sure what I should measure. Regards

Hi, as it is raining hard here I may not make it to the boat today, but will be going sailing on it soon and will measure my hatch. Here is a site to look at, it has the "cut out" dimensions as well as the overall sizes, and drawings which might help. www.oceanchandlery.com/gebo-standard-hatch.htmlAs I said I will measure up my hatch , but feel it would be wise to measure your own before buying a new one just in case yours is a different size to mine, ours is a 2006 model, what year is yours and where on the planet are you based? Not sure, I ordered new hinges, gasket, and seal...I will attempt to replace all of that and see if it stops

There are three obvious places where it can leak: 1) between the "glass" and the aluminum frame, 2) at the gasket, and 3) between the outer frame and the fiberglass.
In my case, I had a leak between the outer frame and the fiberglass. I had the yard remove the hatch and re-bed it with the proper sealant. It hasn't leaked since.
Actually, I had another hatch of the same design (over the galley) leak between the "glass" and the frame. This was an easier repair, since the "glass" could be pulled out due to the sealant failure.

Thanks! From what I have seen it seems that in my case I will need to fix the glass and the gasket...but I will check also the frame, it looks to be ok but who knows. Thanks for the info, all my spare parts are on the way, hope to get this done in a couple of weeks.

in each closure handle there is an O-ring. after some years the )-ring losses its flexibility and causes leakage, even if you tighten the handles. Just replace the O-rings.
I got them for free from Gebo, but I live in the Netherlands.
