I once found instructions here on the fix for intermittent starting difficulties on the late 90 45.2. It acts like a solenoid problem, but apparently is Amp problem due to undersized wiring. 5 years and counting having to occasionally turn the key multiple times for it to catch. Can't seem to find the correct search terms for the repair. Anyone recall this issue. Thanks.

This is a well known Yanmar problem. It has to do with the long cable harness and connections which cause a voltage drop overtime. The link here is link. Or this link
