Can anybody help with guard rail stanchions which will not remain tight. The problem is not the bases as these are firmly fixed to the deck plates, but some of the uprights have some movement. Should they seat on a washer or other form of packing? We took delivery of our boat in March of this year and have had a good season sailing with very few warranty problems.

Hi
You will find that most statnchions are designed to have some movement as this enables them to take a "shock" load of a heavy weight being put on them.
Our SO36i has also performed with no problems.
