Hi All
Does anybody know the size of the cutlass bearing on these boats? My boat is in the water so I can’t measure it, I would like to get it lifted and changed while it’s held in the slings, hence I need the right one 1st time! The engineer at the yard I’m in said there could be 4 options for a 25mm shaft. I have a picture of the whole thing but I can’t seam to add to this post?
Thanks as ever

I purchased a replacement cutlass bearing for my previous boat (SO29.2) from Clark and Carter in the UK. Fast delivery to Australia. The hardest part was getting the prop off, then undo the grub screws, slide to old bearing out and slip a new one in. The lip on the bearing gives you something to grip. Make sure the shaft if free of any deposits that could damage the bearing.

On my SO32 from 2004 I changed the bearing twice. First time after 3 years and at that time I changed the bearing for an original Jeanneau bearing which got already after few years again too much tolerance, although the outlining of the engine was OK.
So I changed it a second time in 2009 for a type from Exalto in the Netherlands with a brass outer liner. The outer diameter was too big, so I had to lathe it a bit. This bearing is still in place and I make more than average engine hours.
The size of the original Jeanneau full rubber bearing is: 36 x 25 x 74,7 mm.
