I'm also seriously considering a Sun 2500 as it ticks so many boxes for me. The concerns I have centre mainly on performance and ruggedness: - Many reviews cite a lack of performance upwind and in light airs. Is this justified or only if compared to an out-and-out racer?
- How well do they sail in strong weather? Is there much "slamming" in choppy conditions?
- Can anyone say why she only achieved an EU RCD category C, which seems quite low given specs?
Any insight from members with experience of the 2500 would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello wanzap1 and muna Having a SUN2500 for some years, here is my input: - Good day cruiser
- Easy to sail
- Not very comfortable for many nights at sea as the size inside is very limited
- The standard sails are sufficient , but with a performance set of sails you can have an increase in perf and sailing pleasure.
- Over 16/20 knts of wind it becomes challenging but feasible, depending of your expectations
In the overall, was very happy with her , it just depend of your future usage
