JACKPLATE Has anyone added a Jackplate or Setback Plate to their 895 or 855? I have noted as did someone else on the board, that trimming up cut fuel consumption and/or increased speed slightly. Seems like getting more of the motor out of the water and in cleaner water would help. Also adds benefit of not retracting seat quite so far.

Jack plate or Armstrong - Marine stainless steel flotation brackets could help with the lower stern problem.

NC 895 owners: Have any owners experienced that by having kept your boat in a salt marina and then having any issues with the engine bracket and engine lower unit?

YES !!! corrossion on the lower unit. Having hard time finding the source. Thinking about installing jack plate to get lower unit out of the water while at the dock on shore power. 2021 895 Sport w/Yamaha 250's in Ft Myers

I bought my MF855 last year when it was almost 5 years old. It came with a number of odd optional extras, one of which was a jackplate. My surveyor couldn't understand why it had been installed on this particular boat as a jackplate is normally only used for high performance boats. I have played around with the jackplate but can't see it makes much of a difference, consequently we simply leave it on level 4 as advised by the previous owner. I would have it removed except for the cost and complication of it, so am just leaving it alone for the time being.
