We have an '01 37' SO and need to clean the vee berth and aft cabin cushion covers. Anything we should or shouldn't do? Thanks in advance!

We just take the covers off and machinewash them. When taking the covers off, take care with the buttons(not really buttons but sort off) that are held by strings which might break if too much force is applied. Nothing special about the washing.

The buttons on ours were held largely by a thin almost-sheet of plastic that penetrates about half-way through the foam. We snipped those, removed the covers, washed on gentle cycle with a healthy dose of perborate bleach (OxyClean and OxyMagic in the US), then hung to dry. Wish we'd done it 5 years sooner.
We made no effort to replace the buttons.

Another top tip.... don't undo the zips all the way, put a safety pin 1cm from the end. This will stop the zip from pulling out of the end when you are wrestling the cushions back inside the covers.
