Hey all,
I got bored, and tried my hand at a 3D programme called Blender - wow it is powerful, but the main reason was to put up little videos of helpful information for yachties.
The one below is my first attempt. Please ignore the sound quality, the fact I get muddled with words (only one take) and that the graphics sometimes have holes in them.
What I would like to know is if you think little things like this would be useful in general?
There is obviously a knack to this, and I was thinking of adding background music at a low level etc - but as a very first 'what do you think attempt' I feel it is not too bad.
Just wondering if it is worth it. I will tackle my hot and cold pressurised system next, then rudders etc. My experiment with faux decking is currently trying to render so a day or two and that should be there as well. The virus has freed up some time you know :-)

Well done Mike, and if the bug is as bad as advertised you could probably do a complete boat strip down and rebuild ! Once you finish your first full set of vids, could you do a set for a SO35 circa 2006
Thanks CB

And to think the best I can do when bored is throw bread at the pigeons on the balcony railings.
Great Idea MickeyB, perfect for the likes of me, simple and to the point and very easy to follow. I could image the same type of videos on seamanship, navigation and pilotage working well.

Very Good.
Just before you all rush out to service your cutlass bearing however just be aware that props don't always won't to come off the shaft that easily.
You will probably need a 'puller' to get it off. Try not to resort to a hammer and if you do use a piece of soft wood to absorb some of the shock.

Thanks for all the encouragement. A new version of this one will be coming in a few days.
I have had lots of messages on how to do mini help videos, and some of them are Gems and really helped me (how to plan, the order you do things etc).
I am working on a new version of this one today, may even get it out today but depends how many fires I have to put out at work.

Bracket to remove the from the shaft, cote the shaft with grease before putting it back in(preferably lanocote) and if the is no locking for the nut locktite to nut tread 2. Bracket for removing the cutlass in case the cutlass is nit from the full rubber type 3. Hot to grease the lips of the shaft seal
