My Sun Odyssey 34,2 is undergoing major repair and I have been told by the yard that new keel bolts are required and they need to know the grade of metal used .Can anyone give me a direction as to how to get this info.

I can't help but wonder how qualified the boat yard is to be replacing keel bolts if they don't even know what grade is appropriate for the application.

Hi, you mention .. major repairs .. is this due to a hard grounding? if not they are not likely to require replacement.
The choice of keel bolt material is generaly a small issue, and a personal choice, 316 stainless is subject to crevis coronation but doesn't rust much, mild steel is arguably a stronger choice, but does need coating in a bedding material and the exposed ends need paint, both work well and are stronger than the hull they are bolted on to, both will last 30 or more years as long as they don't have sea water attacking them through the keel to hull joint.

Jeanneau Client Services have this email address: service.client@jeanneau.fr
I’d suggest you contact them. They take a while to answer but they should give you the correct information. I’d also ask about tightening torque.
