Last weekend we had our 1st regatta of the season, part of the 5 Clubs held locally. It was generally light winds, so a more challenging race. We had a good sail, slightly compromised at the windward mark. Came first on the water in our group but 3rd after rating. Top 3 boats in our group were within 8 seconds of each after 2hrs 40 mins on the water - close racing.

I'm envious of your early season sail, we have had to put all thoughts of sailing on hold until normality returns. I'm assuming your regatta was the weekend before the lock down in Spain. Are you still out there or are you safely back home?

This was actually the 3rd regatta of the season, unfortunately the 1st one end of January was cancelled due to storm Gloria and then we missed the 2nd one in February due to being in the UK. Yes the regatta was the week before the lockdown in Spain, such a contrast, one moment we are enjoying freedom, fantastic sailing and the following week we are confined to our homes, home for us is in Spain so riding it out here.
I think we spoke to you last summer in Port de Porroig - I came across to your boat to check if our AIS was working correctly, obviously had a chat about your beautiful boat. Hopefully will be out there again in the summer, all things being equal.

Yes, we too hope to see you in the Balearics, even if it’s late in the season. As to all our forum friends, all over the world, I say, keep safe. Let’s just hope we can get over this thing and back to normality as soon as possible.

My first weekend race was scheduled for April 4. Weeknight series a two mondays later. Those and other races, cruises and on water events thru mid May have been pretty much canceled here in the Puget Sound region of Washington St US. I live a few miles North of Seattle.
