Rudder Stop not in parts catalogue

Hi all,
So a bit of a strange post this one. I had I think a stray current, which literally ATE 'something' that held the piece below to my rudder quadrant. The problem I face is that I cannot work out what was eaten, what it looked like and what to do about replacing it.
The 'stopper', for want of a better word, is attached to the phantom piece which itself is, I assume, bolted onto the top of the quadrant as that is where I found it lying. Note the bolts in the picture (or lack of - most also munched on by the hungry electrons).
I got hold of Jeanneau who emailed me all exploded diagrams for the SO 34.2 (very nice of them). I attach that as a ZIP file for anyone interested. It contains 18 pages of rather good information - may be relevant to your yacht as well as I assume Jeanneau use similar pieces on other yachts.

So, here are two pictures of the part. They are big so that you can zoom in and see whats left of the elusive part.

At the very top of the above one, you can clearly see the remains of the missing bit, and the 'brown' shape I assume is the shape? Note the missing bolt lower right.
And image 2,

Now, the exploded view is as shown below.
Note that the quadrant, part 8 has the stopper and the missing bit missing (unsure if a missing bit missing is even a sensible statement)!
So my problem is that I have a stopper which needs to connect to the quadrant.
1) Does anyone know the proper names for any of these bits?
2) Does anyone have exploded views or pictures of how a stopper like the one I have attaches to the quadrant? Doesn't matter if not for my boat, anything similar will assist.
3) Is anyone out there small enough to crawl into my rear locker and help me fix this?
Many thanks in advance of any help.
Mike
