I am new to the forum. I have been searching for the right boat to buy for the Great Loop. For those that don’t know, the Great Loop is a roughly 6500 mile journey through the eastern USA and Canada using rivers, lakes, canals and the inter coastal waterway. There is no perfect boat but the NC11 is at the top of my list because of its size, efficiency and practicality. Curious to know if any NC11 owner has attempted the trip.

Hi Westdave You are very welcome and there are a lot of knowledgeable owners who might be able to assist with views on the suitability of the NC11 for what sounds and amazing voyage Suggest you also post a new thread here: jeanneau.proboards.com/board/5/motorboat-specific

Hi westdave. Whereabouts are you based out of? I have my NC 11 in Collingwood on Georgian Bay. A couple of other boaters in my marina have done the great loop. The one guy had a 50 foot flybridge and it was just him and his wife. He said it was too much boat for only two of them considering the hundred or more locks you have to go through on the various systems. If you want to know what’s great to visit on the Great Lakes let me know. Maybe we can meet up? A great resource is the Great Lakes cruising club... check it out here. www.glcclub.com/Although on that trip you will be doing more than the Great Lakes, they may have some resources for the Loop.
