Jeanneau Merry Fisher 1095
I am the proud owner of a Merry Fisher 1095 since spring 2019 (Early build number 3).
It was our first boat season for my family and for me. We had to learn to handle the boat first. We spent several weekends on the boat. Our home harbor is at the Elbe river near Hamburg in Germany.
We really enjoyed the Summer season and the boat. I'm already looking forward to spring time. In 2020 we are planning a first Baltic see vacation with our MF1095.
Looking forward to learn from you and to share my experiences here.
Regards Andreas

Dear Andreas,
I am almost ready to sign for a new 1095, to be delivered to Greece. Please share some of your bad experiences, if any, till now. What to expect? Do you have any recommendations for accessories and options, which make sense? Did you ever encountered any rough seas till now? (well, on the river is unlike...). Just now, I am undecided if will choose the Fly version or not. The drawback of Fly is that we will loose the cockpit table... Any thoughts?

Hello laurentiu,
overall I am very happy about the MF1095. A lot of boat for the money. Enough space for a 4 person family. Quality is ok. It's really fun to drive.
I have the building number 3. In newer models there are a few little improvements I am missing in my early version. Take care that your model will have these improvements:
a) Wasser tank display- showing how much fresh water you still have (in my model I can only guess) b) Switch for the warm water boiler in the salon behind the driver seat (I have to plug in the 220V plug hidden behind the smaller cabin, difficult to reach) c) Behind the driver seat there you find a new lever for switch off the petrol tank valve (very convenient. I have open the gap in the cockpit to reach the valve)
During my 1st season last summer, I was really missing a), b) and c) . Good to see that Jeanneau improved in the newer 2020 model. I ask a local warft to add the features during the winter break. So next season it will be solved also for me.
Another missing item is that Jeanneau is not delivering a horn. That you should ask the dealer to add.
I really like the cockpit cover. It is expensive, but very useful e.g. if it is raining or for getting more shadow. If you fully close it, then it helps to extend the season into the colder part of the year.
The only lowlight: I have sometimes some water in the bilge. It is not much , too little for the pumps. So, I clean it up manually. The root cause is not yet clear. Could be rain water. So, far I did not meet somebody else with a Merry fisher who has the problem. Seems to be unique for my boot. In another forum I got a lot of tips on how to find the root cause and I am convinced to find it in Spring time.
So, overall, I can recommend the MF1095 very well. I would buy it again.
I forgot to mention: If you are sailing in Greece, then I would go for the fly bridge version. It's just more fun for the driver. In the cockpit , you still can put a little foldable teak table yourself if this is not available from Jeanneau.
Regard Andreas

Dear Andreas, Thank you for all your insights. I just postponed my order, because of the Corona crises. But, I still plan to buy this boat for 2021 season. Great advice for Flybridge, but I wander if would not loose the nice and usefull air breeze from the ceiling windows I never used a Flybridge. What other features do you recommend to add? Air conditioning, generator? What about a gyro stabilizer? Do you keep the boat on a lake? How does she perform on waves? Thank you very much.

Hi laurentiu,
I do agree, the fly bridge takes away the nice sun roofs and also some space in the cockpit. Both I would mis. Next to the below already mentioned items, during the winter break I added a few features that I missed for longer travel and safety.
- Radar - Auto Pilot - VHF
Air condition I do not need. I am living in the north of Germany close to Hamburg. Heating is more important for extending the season. For me a stabilizer does not make a lot of sense for this kind of boats. It would put it on the list for a potential next boat, a boat for real long range travel.
The 1st season I spend mostly with day trips and weekends on the Elbe River in Hamburg for getting used to the boat. For this season I plan for family traveling two/three weeks in the Northern See (the Elbe River flows there) or Baltic See (reachable via the Nord Ostsee Channel) during summer holiday (if corona allows). After that trip I may have more experience how the MF behaves in rough see situations.
By the way. The warft found the root cause for the water in the bilge. Two little round maintenance covers on the swimming platform behind the engines have been mounted during production without sealing. So, while driving or raining water leaked in there. Jeanneau simply has been careless during production. Most likely they have been under time pressure for getting the hull no 3 boat into early exhibitions. It should be fixed now. So, no worry for your boat.
Looking forward that the season can start this summer
Andreas

Hi All,
wanted to say hello - just took delivery of a new Merry Fisher 1095 (Coupe). Ordered just ahead of Corona crisis But I dont regret it, at least it makes you think about something else than crisis Now I am sorting out how to get the boat to Croatia, where I reserved a berth, and equally important, how I can go there myself from Austria Worst nightmare would be to send the boat there and then I will not be allowed to visit it...
But anyway, boat is not yet completely finished, the local Jeanneau dealer has to fit some additional equipment which arrived late due to the crisis. So far boat looks great, did not find any faults yet, lets see. I specced it for maximum comfort, eg with the factory generator option. Have to say the generator installation is a fantastic piece of engineering, lot of thoughts went into that obviously. And leaves still a lot of storage space beneath the cockpit... Otherwise full electric equipment (microwave etc, to keep the generator busy), solar, A/C, custom made rudder indicator, improved anchor, etc. By the way, I had chartered the MF 1095 last year, and that was the "naked" charter version. But excellent opportunity to get first hand experience and in the end convinced me to buy the boat. This boat had Yamahas, mine has got the Mercury V8s - looking forward to testing them, and especially compare fuel efficiency then. I am thinking (now that I have some time due to the crisis) to install a watermaker. Have got the additional watertank, but even 260 l is not too much, especially with daughters on board Does anybody have experiences with watermakers on boats of this size and can share them? I do have space for the installation, and the generator, and the sea water supply etc is not complicated as we are fitting the A/C locally anyway with all accessories, but I am hearing that watermakers are making trouble if not used regularily... Any recommendations welcome.
best regards to all and stay healthy!

Hello MF2020
congratulation to your new MF1095. Fully understand your freshwater limitations. I have only the 170 liter version. Really not enough for two kids and two adults. I have no experience with Watermakers myself. But I also read that regular usage is important.
Enjoy your MF
Andreas

Hi Andreas, thanks for the nice message and wishes! If I decide to go for the watermaker I will keep you updated... Otherwise, what engines have you got, Yamahas? Can you share performance figures, for example at around 4.000 rpm, what speed and consumption? Hope we will have the first trial (on inland waters) in first half of June... best, Peter
