We bought our 11 in April with 45 hrs on the engines and have put over 100 hrs on it from the San Juans to the Broughtons including the Gulf Islands and Chatterbox falls. Interesting enough - we haven't seen another 11 in our travels.
Ian222 - Where do you keep your boat? We are on the Sunshine Coast.
The only problems we have had with the boat were: - an overheating issue on the port engine in the Broughtons which resolved after cleaning out the kelp and seaweed in the filter in the engine compartment. We then were unable to get the port engine to go over 1500 rpm until we turned everything off including the batteries and then re booted it. - a significant leak around the sliding door beside the helm station on the port side cockpit down into the pantry during heavy rains which was fixed by caulking around the window and sliding door. HAS ANYBODY HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM? I don't think that caulking in that area is standard.
We love the versatility, the range and efficiency of the engines and all the light that comes in thru the unobstructed windows as well as the sound system,TV and generator. There is amazing storage space tho it is a little awkward accessing it thru the floor.
We replaced the microwave with a convection oven/microwave and have added a portable butane stove for early morning coffee and a small toaster.
There isn't much space on the swim platform but we were able to put a Weaver Davit on for our dinghy which works well. We fit a small kayak between the Davit and transom and carry a paddle board across the bow. I was thinking of putting a roof rack on for carrying kayaks/bikes etc. but we like the sunroof to be open and unencumbered. It's nice to peak out while cruising for better visibility.
Any suggestions or comments from other NC11 owners would be appreciated.

Hey Drbob. Enjoyable and informative post. My wife and I have just purchased a used NC 11 and excitedly await its arrival. We live in the Door County area of Wisconsin on Lake Michigan. It is going to be an almost unbearably long Winter as we wait for boating season to start next Spring.First boat for us.
We were drawn to NC11's livability and efficiency. I still worry it will be a bit crowded with another couple on board for any sort of trip over a few days. And I too am busily considering ways to carry our toys like a set of mountain bikes,SUP board, etc. Your coffee idea, an absolute essential, sounds great!
Our son lives in Poulsbo. What an a absolute cruising dreamworld you have to knockabout.
P.S. Did you go to Knox College? I know an internist who lives in Washington state.

Hi Dr Bob...
We keep our NC 11 at West Vancouver Yacht Club, but you may see us at our family dock in Plumper Cove on Keats Island. We also added weaver davits to our transom, I would be curious to see how you set up yours? We did have a leak into the pantry as well, but it seemed to go away. We do not have a generator, we went with a propane range and stove. We have two inflatable kayaks that we can store between the aft bench seat and the 9' AB inflatable mounted on the weaver davits. We did upgrade the batteries on the boat with the Firefly Carbon Foam AGM batteries and added one more on the house bank side. We also made the two foot stools into storage units by adding hinges on the cushion and adding bottom to them. I did post a picture of the DIY beverage holder I made for the starboard side bench, not sure if you saw that post?
Where on the Sunshine coast do you keep your boat, and what is your Boat's name? Ours is named "Two Timer" as it is hull # 222 and it is just the two of us most times we are out.
Cheers Ian

Mike, I went to UBC in Vancouver - not Knox College.
Ian, We have a seasonal dock and a mooring buoy at our place in Sargeant Bay and have winter moorage at the Secret Cove marina.
We came over to Hornby this weekend the day before the gale. Its about an hour and a half cruise instead of 4 ferries and a whole day. My brother has a place here. Things are calming down a bit now and should be fine for our return on Sunday.
The boat was named "Easily Amused" - we may change it tho.
We had the same idea to convert our stools so they can be used as storage units as well tho haven't done this yet. Drink holders are a great idea too.
We'll keep an eye out for you on our travels on the Salish Sea especially if we are traveling around Plumper Cove.

Did you install by yourself? How do you store the engine? Did you consider the Hurley h3o?thank you!

I used the Weaver Davits in the pocket mounts just under the transom rub rail. It was fairly easy to do and makes for a stable dinghy when getting in and out. I did not look at the Hurley system as the transom on the NC 11 is quite narrow when the rear seat is in the aft position. if you email me at ian@rootemanagement.com I can send you a couple of photos of how it was done.
Cheers Ian

ian222,
How did your boating season go? We were able to get in quite a few nice trips. Can't beat boating when you want to isolate. I was chatting with Dr Glenn Stezl the other day who apparently has a dock in Plumpers as well so I thought of you.
We're going to try to do a trip down there in a few weeks if the weather is good to poke around Keats, Gambier and Gibsons. Maybe see you and your NC11 then.

Hi Dr. Bob - My NC11 has the gas oven. Might want to swap for a convection micro. Where did you get it? Model? and how easy was the conversion? If it is easier, my email is sjg@hicksmorley.com
Thanks!!
