Hello all,
Last weekend, we placed 2nd in the Chicago-Mackinac race. I originally bought my 49DS for cruising, but life had different plans for me, and it isn't feasible for this stage of my life. Instead I got into racing, and started optimizing the boat for racing. Here's a video recap of the race:
Sometime in the next week, I'm going to post a mega-post with performance upgrades that I've done, so that others that are interested can see how we sped this boat up!

Congrats on the podium finish! I look forward to hearing about the go-fast mods you have done to Pommes Frites.

Thanks For Sharing, I am considering doing the Bayview - Mack in my 49DS Next year. It appears that you have made a number of changes to the boat? Second set of winches, did you have roller furling main? Love to hear about the other changes you made. Nice job on 2nd Place.

Nice job, and the video was great too! I’m very much looking forward to your post of go fasts, because I’m gearing up my 409 for racing. When you write that post, I’d hope to be able to see your sail inventory. I’ve so far gotten to a laminate triradial main and 110, a carbon 135, and an A3 on a furler. You appear to have a significant compliment of spinnakers. Thanks for the treat of seeing this video this morning!
