I have just created this new board Local Jeanneau Ambassadors following the excellent suggestion by Alex1949 jeanneau.proboards.com/thread/7499/toughts-on-wintering-israel that it would be very helpful to have a local point of contact for anyone cruising a new area. The Cruising Association for many years have a similar HLR scheme, which I know has been very helpful, so hopefully this Jeanneau specific resource will also grow in value and use over time. Of course it needs people to be prepared to offer their informal assistance or advice - maybe simply by email or phone. Local knowledge might range from where there is a good chandler to a recommended restaurant, or how to tackle local bureaucracy or restrictions. I would strongly recommend that the PM - message section of this forum only is used to share contact information. It is not wise to post email and phone numbers within the public posts. The geographic area of knowledge really is up to you, but it might make sense to be reasonably specific, suggest not entire countries (unless relatively small like Israel or Malta), but perhaps a sub-region or coasts etc. I don't see a problem either if there are overlaps or duplicates. If you are prepared to become a Local Ambassador, even if just for a trial period just create a new post on this new board preferably with a brief introduction. This will then allow members of the forum to be able to contact you through the PM message system. As always very happy for feedback and suggestions on how this may develop or be improved. Thanks for your support in anticipation. Malcolm

Thanks everyone for getting this scheme off to a good start and volunteering So that I don't have to keep copying your offers, please click this link to create your own new post on this board preferably with a brief introduction and in the subject line the geographic area that you are prepared to be an Ambassador for. Many thanks Malcolm

Great idea and response. We haul out for 5m soon at Faro for1m in UK then 3m in van in NZ before resuming cruising who knows where, so not much use to others yet i,m afraid.

Well thanks to a really great response to this initiative I have now made a simple google map that hopefully will allow Jeanneau Owners to contact a local Jeanneau Ambassador using the PM message system on this forum. There is already quite a good coverage which hopefully will grow - click on the map below to open and view in detail. I am also considering if the Facebook message system might also be used for the growing number of owners registered on our groups page who are not on this forum Please let me know if you have any problems or thoughts on this, or of course if you also want to volunteer as an area Jeanneau Ambassador. Thanks as always for your support and interest.

I noticed someone else put up their hands for British Columbia South Coast so I may be a duplicate here, but I would be happy to pitch in for Urban Vancouver and Howe Sound, which is a subset of that. I park in a marina that's right in the center of the city, and commute to a cottage on an island in Howe Sound, so know those parts of the territory well.
