Hi all,
Anyone experience of fitting a 15kg Rocna to a Sun Odyssey 32. Will it fit the bow roller or does the roller need modification?
What other new generation anchors have people had success with?
Cheers Steve

Steve I have a Rocna 15 on my SO36i and it is a great anchor. The Rocna website has full size profiles of their anchors as PDF files. I printed the profile by tiling on A4 paper, matched up the lines and glued the whole lot to some cardboard. This fitted very well on my bow roller and gave me the confidence to buy the anchor. The Rocna website also has recommended sizes for various boat sizes and conditions. Rob

I changed the useless CQR copy on our SO32 to a Rocna 15. It doesn't fit the roller - the tip of the anchor fouls the stem. Also the Rocna wobbles about on the standard profile roller. I had 2 chunky (much much chunkier than necessary, I think the guy that made them thought I had a tanker) plates made up and bolted them in place of the existing roller, with a custom made roller which has a slot the same width as the Rocna anchor shank so it holds it nice and securely laterally. I will upload photos if 23hq ever does send me the registration email that it says has already been sent... Edit... given up with 23hq (tried registering again, it says it's sent me an email, nothing arrives, nothing in my spam folder...), here we are with imgur:

Thanks Mike,
This is really helpful information and as I expected, it needs a roller Modification.
The delivery trip is the end of June so there is no time and so the genuine 10kg Delta (which is already a tight fit) which I have been using ok in light conditions the last few months will have to do for the time being.

I did use the Rocna on the original roller etc. for a short time - I taped a thick layer of foam on the hull for it to rest against and tied it securely into position when stowed to stop it from rattling around. It was OK as a temporary solution.

Hi guys, I just bought and installed a Rocna 15kg anchor on my SO30i. Now I am facing two problems: 1. The anchor is hitting everytime the bow of my boat when putting it down or up by windlass 2. The windlass can not get the anchor over the bow roller when taking in. I guess I need something to protect the bow and a kind of seasaw to get it in by windlass. Is there anything I can buy for 2. to "update" the default Jeanneau bow roller? Or do I need to buy a complete new bow roller with seasaw setup? Any hints are more than welcome. Cheers Torsten
