I know you've all been working hard out there over the winter and as you launch - I'd love to see what you've done and get more inspiration!
We've done an unusual amount this year as Cloud Nine turns 10 - I'll add some pics from the phone shortly if I may, but in addition to the usual annual jobs of putting sails back on, putting safety kit back on, cushions, bimini etc., oiling the teak seats etc., our list has comprised:
- Fitting the last two solar panel mounts (awkward as the tubing is non-standard compared with the mounts)
- Got the steel man to make a plate for the mid level in the fridge (nobody can reach the bottom anyway) and replaced the old rusted plastic-coated metal baskets with nice new carver-style ones
- Put carpet onto the companionway steps for a more effective anti-slip than the non-slip adhesive strips
- Made a new outboard pad to fit our 10 hp outboard
- Moved the bin by making a drawer out of a cupboard
- Made & fitted a bespoke fly-screen/mossie net for the companionway hatch
- Fitted a dusk to dawn LED anchor light with a 12V plug, which we'll plug in when we're not here
- Added some fruit nets on hooks above a bespoke shelf with storage baskets
- Installed a new tap with water filter to replace the old folding one that doubled as fridge drain - we can now drink water from the tanks
- Fitted new cockpit speakers (thank you! to those who recommended the Fusion speakers - they're fab!)
- Hung up a whiteboard (so useful, especially as an instructor)
- 2 fittings for the handheld VHF:
- the charging base permanently fitted to the chart table
(also shown on the previous pic) - and cut down a winch handle pocket and fitted by the helm for when under way
- Designed & made a bespoke storage bin for binoculars, chart, pilot book, phones, sunnies etc under the cockpit table, incorporating 12V socket & light switch
- Fitted the cockpit table I made over the winter (see thread here jeanneau.proboards.com/thread/7163/replacing-cockpit-table-on-so44i)
- along with LED lighting underneath
- Fitted ambient LED strip lighting throughout, including uplighters and pelmets
- Fitted red LEDs under the companionway steps for night-sailing illumination
- And over the chart table ditto
- With halo light switch
- We also used the same style of halo switch for the LED lighting in the forecabin(s) behind the new headliners we made last week
- The forecabin(s) also got rather nice new LED reading lights
- And the invisible job (don't you just hate those?), was replacing the broken hooks on the curtains with velcro to hold the bottoms in place
All that in 3 weeks! Of course if anyone wants any info on how we did anything please feel free to ask
Now - over to you, let's see what you've been up to!
