Sharing this idea for NC owners. I bought a roll of gray EVA decking material on Amazon for approximately $100 and a roll of clear painters plastic. I like the look of the black part of the material showing at the edges so I beveled the edges using a Dremel router table ($29 at Menards). The holes are drilled with hole saws. The large hole (9" for the aft deck table base) was too big for my hole saw bits so I used a dry wall radial cutter (10 bucks at home depot) which worked perfectly. The decking material comes with a 3M adhesive on the back of the material which worked very well overall. There were some dry spots which were not sticking, so I used 3M 90 spray adhesive where it was needed. It's not perfect and there are some things I would do differently next time but I must have saved $2,500 doing it DIY. Very happy with the way it turned out.

Mcaptain,
Nicely done. It Looks beautiful. Thanks for Posting the info and pics. This is something I’m interested in. And in particular the long term Durability. Captain Ron had a similar product professionally installed with fantastic results.

Capt'n Lynn, thanks very much. We'll see how it wears. I can tell you already it is very easy to clean and very comfortable compared to non-skid white.

Looks very nice. Thanks for sharing your experiance. In my 795, somebody did the job for me. Only inside cabin area was covered. The brand is U-Deck from New Zealand. For a little less than 3 sq, meters it cost me 500 dollars, including workmanship and expenses. Pictures I shall add on.

UPDATE - Thanks for all the comments. After about 100 hours of cruising last season the material is wearing very very well. It cleans very easily, does not absorb or stain. However, the adhesive did not stick well in some areas. I plan to remove those lose pieces before launching and clean and reset the adhesive. Hoping that will work well and hold for multiple seasons because the material appears to be as advertised.

Here are some photos of U Deck application just completed inside my 795 as mentioned earlier. There will be some small adjustments here and there. The pilot foot rest, which is slippery may also be covered. Regards to all. ibb.co/PhnyCb5ibb.co/k8WKzfQibb.co/nnRdc1TVery nice, great work. How high / thick are the plates or pieces?

Nanus, the thickness is 0,6 mm. I think there is 0,3, 0,6 and 0,9 alternatives. 0,3 is preferred by racing yachts. 0,9 seems rather to thick and heavy. The important thing is the surface. Some have rather feathery feeling. In my country these attract crows and they like to dig them.

I think it is a very nice addition to the boat. I live in Izmir, Turkey and I'm seriously considering buying a MF795. While I was browsing the internet for information, I stumbled upon your posts and reliazed that you bought one recently. I'd very much like to pick your mind and ask a few questions. I'm especially confused about which optional features to pick from Depar Motor. I already contacted them, but I'd prefer an independent opinion as well. Please reach me from: omer(at)batiisil.com Best Regards,
