Vasko, it seems the pleasure marine insurance industry is going through problems, many underwriters are getting out of the game. I believe the bad weather in the Caribbean over the last few years has had more casualties than just the boats. Expect premiums to become more expensive over the next year or two.
I have had many quotations for my new JY 51 I settled with GJW Direct they offered good simple to understand cover at a competitive price.

I would expect this but for expensive boats - my one 41k insured value only - and I have never had a claim or accident...

Another thumbs up for GJW.
After quite a bit of upgrade work on my boat they agreed to up the valuation on the price originally paid. Not all companies will do this even if you fit new engine, masts, nav gear, et al. It is something to be aware of if you take on a project or upgrade for an ocean crossing.
When I talked to them at the boat show they told me that their premiums would not increase through Caribbean hurricane losses because none of their boats were affected.
Rather nice hospitality thrown in at the boat show too!

Hi all.
I use LaFerla insurance - (www.laferla.com.mt) and mine is insured 3rd party with a few special notes (dive compressor, music instruments etc) and is boat value 50k.
I have Maltese and Italian waters insurance and it is 147euros.
I think last year I had Greek waters and it was 195 (but cannot find it so that is from memory)
Unsure if they like off shore insurance - but maybe worth a look.
Mike

We nave had great success with IMIS - we did get a boost last year and expected it as to many people did not clear out of the hurricane zone and the losses were huge. This year we did not get an increase. IMIS works with us every year depending on where we sail. When we did the Black Sea we did pay a bit of a surcharge for an area east of Georgia and they would not cover piracy or theft. When we wanted to come to Israel they did not hesitate and we were charged just a bit more per month for our stay and they included Egypt. When I told them I may want to go to the Red Sea they said let's talk when you are ready.
They allowed us a 2 handed Atlantic crossing. They really work with us.
