Hi, just wanted to introduce myself.... hopefully made the best decision ever as am now the proud owner (and first time yacht owner) of a 1999 SO 42.2. Anyone else who is sailing one of these have any tips? Dan Hi Dan Welcome to our forum and congratulations on your new 42.2. If your are on Facebook do also join in on our Facebook Group www.facebook.com/groups/jeanneauowners the designer of your boat Guy Ribadeau Dumas is a member and may possibly answer specific technical issues. That said most Jeanneau's of almost any age tend to have similar systems, components and issues and I am sure you will find this forum and the many technical knowledgeable owners here able to assist with advice for most basic problems - and even some more of the potentially complex. Finally please do add some photos when you can to our 42.2 gallery goo.gl/photos/jiAWAHfxgGquGgoc8 looks like we only have one image there currently, so would love more... Malcolm

Hi
I am new to this forum and I have ordered a new 319. Main options are: self tacking jib and the swing keel.
Not entirely new to Jeanneau as I owned a Sun 2000 in the past.
Delivery is June so it will be a while
Thanks
Hans

I finally registered here. Question; is there a way to go directly to the most recent posts within a thread?

Hi Moonshadow, Click on the time indicator on the RHS of the thread you are interested in. That will take you to the last post in that thread. Rob

Thanks Rob. I don’t see anything that looks like any type of time indicator on my view. Still trying to get around the site and I appreciate the tips.

Thanks Rob. I don’t see anything that looks like any type of time indicator on my view. Still trying to get around the site and I appreciate the tips. Welcome as well Moonshadow and thanks Rob for giving the method. I agree it may not be that obvious, so thanks for asking the question. I will add this to the use of the forum section, but hopefully the screen shot below shows the position of the link and time and date indicator which pops up as a clickable link to the most recent post. www.23hq.com/Jeanneau/photo/42063760/original

Maybe because I am using an iPhone but this info appears below the thread title and does not link.

I use an iPad so I assume similar to using the phone.
I have found the best approach to keeping up with what is going on on the forum is to use the tab called "Boards". Under the divider where the statistics are, there is a link called "Recent Posts". This leads to pages that show all the latest posts in all threads in order from most recent to earliest. I find there are enough posts there to cover back to the last time I checked in, even if it is several days. Worth checking in often, nice folks here and always interesting topics.
Alternatively, instead of starting at the "boards" tab, the "Recent Threads" tab will take you to a list of the threads most recently commented on. This takes you further back than recent posts, particularly if you are looking for a thread that has been quiet for a while.
By the way, welcome to the forum. It sounds like you may have been looking in for a while, glad you finally decided to join us.

Hi Moonshadow,
The iPad and iPhone versions of the web site are different, so it's not surprising that things don't work the same. However, if you scroll down to the bottom of the screen, at the right, there is a link "Desktop". This will show you the desktop version of the web site on your phone. It's not ideal, but the links work there.
I would follow rene460's recommendations. There are many ways to navigation through the site, and eventually you will find one that works for you.
Don

Thanks for the help. I am now using a different device and the “last post” date link works. I guess it is a bad iPhone problem.

Hello All! Newbie to the forum from Switzerland, Lake Luzern.
I am about to become the latest owner of a Jeanneau "Love Love", not one of the big boys so to speak, but a fine vessel nonetheless, especially for the lakes here. We are a little short on coastline unfortunately.
Long story short, the boat is a 1974 era build, Hull number 154 of 780 built. Hull is structurally sound and she sails quite well, but needs a lot of TLC in the cosmetic department, so it will be a fun project cleaning the boat up and getting her all pretty again.
Would really like to hear from any other Love Love owners, either past or present.

Welcome and well done
I don't think that it is about sizes but about being out in the water!! Our first boat was also a small 1970 28 footer heavily neglected be the previous owners, that turned into 2 years of work, but the knowledge we gained was precious
Enjoy!!

Hi mightytinypirate, congratulations on the purchase and welcome to the forum.
I don't know anything about your particular model, but most of the issues we all face are not very specific to particular model. Of course there are also some exceptions.
Our SO30i feels like it is at the small end of the range, though I know smaller models have been produced. We are also lake sailors and my feeling is that for lakes, small is an advantage. You only need a cosy cabin and basic facilities.
So enjoy working on your new possession until she is truly your pride and joy, peruse old threads on the forum for ideas and others experience, and keep looking in. Everyone will be interested in your progress.
