Hello Everyone
I have been lurking here for about a year now and finally signed up today. I currently reside in Canada. I recently purchased a SO36i out of charter and keep it in the Caribbean. I also have a C&C 29 Mk2 which I keep in Upstate New York.
I have had lots of boats over the years but this SO36i is my first Jeanneau. I have found this site to be very knowledgeable and hopefully, I will have something to give back.
Cheers
Paul

Hello!....Well I gone and done it now. I am nuts. We've had a 1979 S2 11.0A for 18 years here on Lake Michigan (Wisconsin). Now we have a 03 Jeanneau SO 43DS purchased from an long time friend and sailing mentor. He taught me to sail over 30 years ago and he is aging and has too many boats LOL. Our S2 is for sale and we are getting spoiled. Anyway, we are getting used to the new boat and are loving it. Came here to research some issues and get advice on this new venture. thanks for everyone sharing their insights !

Hello! At very very long last, it looks like I'll be able to take over my SO44i out of the Sunsail yacht management scheme this autumn so I thought it was high time to register here :-) Live in Switzerland, boat based in the Ionian. Looks like this will be a very valuable resource from here on out

Pros and cons etc

Dear Jeanneau friends just registered this forum since we bought a Voyage 11.20 (from 1990) a few weeks ago. Looking forward to be sailing with the boat and on this forum Best regards, Axel

Hi Malcolm,
Re your "5000Members" post, probably I am in the wrong place, but I have not noticed before that your posts do not offer a reply button, Admin privilege perhaps.
I just wanted to give my vote of thanks to you for your running of the forum along with all of the moderators. It really is an excellent forum and I for one really appreciate the facility it offers, and the friendly and helpful manner which runs through nearly all posts. Sure there is the odd gripe, but it would be surprising if there was not. And the advice and assistance to questions is invaluable, thanks both to your efforts and to all the many members who contribute.
But I am not alone, 5000 members attests to that, a great milestone. I am sure most peruse the forum as guests before joining, and that 5000 have signed up is a real vote of credit for the terrific job you are all doing.
Thank you for all the effort you have put in to making this such a great forum.

Many thanks indeed for your kind comments, but overall the Members and Moderators make this largely an easy forum to look after. The Facebook group tends to get more blatant commercial posts and rubbish that have to be removed (all FB posts go to moderation first) kind regards Malcolm

Hello, we almost have our SO34.2. We got the keys last weekend but she had to go straight to the fiberglass repair shop for some keel sump touchup. The boat is a 2000 model and we really like the floor plan. I hope she sails as good as she looks. Funny thing about buying a yacht here in the states, you don't get to do much of a "test drive" like you do with and auto.
In any case we would like to find a source for a stainless steel guard to put on the bow where it gets hit by the anchor. If anyone would be kind enough to recommend, it would help us. I am guessing we will have to purchase from Europe as I have found no source here in the states.
Merry Christmas to all
Lennie

Hello, We just put down a deposit on a new 2016 436 which we're getting delivered in April. Excited for Spring to come. We'll be around the delaware river/riverside NJ area for a while and then moving up to probably Liberty Marina NJ or Haverstraw NY.

HI All
Although I have posted a few times already, I have missed the proper introduction...
My name is Andres, based in Hong Kong and as of last Friday the happy owner of a 2002 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 43 DS
Not interested in racing, we (wife and 2 young kids) are more into chill cruising
Cheers Andres
