Hi all, I'm a new member in this forum - thank you accepting me! Was around motor boats throughout all my childhood (in Finland), but purchased my first own one just 7 years ago (Occelbo C20). That become too small for us, so I sold it, and ordered the new MF795 s2. If everything goes as planned (this has been such a challenging year that you'll never know) we shouyld get it in April-May. Can't hardly wait :-) Cheers, Jussi Hi Jussi You are very welcome. Always exciting getting a new boat. There are quite a few knowledgeable powerboaters here, especially in our Powerboat and Motor cruiser section at: jeanneau.proboards.com/board/5The Merry Fishers are confusingly rebranded in North America as NC (New Concept's) so references to NC 795 series 2 will also be relevant. Worth using our search function to find older posts too. Good luck Malcolm

Thanks, Bryan

Welcome to the forum, Bryan! I have a Sun Odyssey of the same vintage, and I think it's among the best. Shorter than your 40.3, but the right size for us.
I suggest you start a new thread in the "Equipment & Commissioning" section of the forum. I'm sure you will get lots of replies. But in the mean time, I'm wondering how old the running rigging is. If it's not original, it may just need a good wash. You can do this in a normal washing machine on gentle cycle, putting each line in a bag or pillowcase to keep it from getting too tangled.

All, Very pleased to join this Forum. Currently owner of a Sun 2500, sailing in south of France, and waiting for a brand new SO440 to be delivered in July 2019. Will be happy to share any feedback from those who already have sailed this boat. A grammar question : In english people talk about their boats saying "her" , in French we use "his" any explanation ? Happy new year everyone !

We visited our boat while she was being built there and the people working on her were wonderful. We hopefully got all the new boat bugs worked out this past sumer and hope to head north to NYC and LI Sound next summer after I retire. Hope everyone is surviving COVID. Looking forward to getting many helpful answers from this forum in the future. Happy New Year - Pierre

The 410, and indeed all the new walk-around sailboats are very impressive. i am sure you will be delighted. Do add some photos to the 410 gallery when you can: photos.app.goo.gl/VkcoomwWpc5ccwEt8Malcolm

Hey, everyone! New owner of a 2008 39i in Marina Del Rey, CA. I am primarily a coastal cruiser with the occasional beer can or cruiser class race. I moved up from a 1968 Cal 2-30, which I had 10 years and loved. I am looking forward to new adventures with S/V Grace and I will be perusing these forums to glean as much info as possible.

Hi! I purchased a SO 36.2 in the fall. I am a semi-retired long-time racer. I sold my racing boat in 2019, and now have the 36.2 for cruising. I also own a Santa Cruz 27 in partnership. The 36.2 is being brought back up to top condition over the winter, and we are planning lots of cruising in the Pacific Northwest next summer.

Hi timdaniel, Welcome, the 36.2 is a great boat, I used to crew on a sunfast version and was always very impressed by the performance. Also a comfortable cruising boat. The through hulls and seacocks will need replacing if they have not been replaced already.

Hello all! I am happy to join this forum family! I am in Vancouver BC. My wife and I bought our 2005 SO 54 DS in July 2020 and we managed to get a solid month on her in the summer with the kids before school started in September . We are in the midst of some upgrades to the boat and look forward to being able to carve out more cruising days. Our first project was installing a 3KW inverter, and we have recently completed the installation of a hydronic heating system. We are now reupholstering the salon cushions, replacing the mattresses and switching to vacuflush heads (these Euro holding tanks are small!). Lots to do on the boat, like any boat of this age, but being lifelong sailors we are so happy to be able to share these experiences with our kids. We are very happy with the boat - the build quality and looks are always appreciated at marinas we visit, and we've had her out sailing in relatively strong winds and even with three young kids playing/arguing below we felt confident, which goes a long way to enjoying boating!

Very welcome Gaston. The 54DS is such a stunning boat, I remember years ago, when they first came out, sailing alongside one off the Sept Îles in Brittany, France. Only sailed next to her for a short time of course (us in a SO34.2) as she soon steamed past. Magic.

Hello everyone! My name is Anna. My husband and I bought Jeanneau Trinidad 48, 1984 in Greece. Now we have a lot of work to repair it, before it becomes a full-fledged home for us, because it has been anchored for 9 years without any maintenance. Unfortunately, very little information could be found on this model. So, I will be very glad if experienced;) owners of this yacht model respond. This is not our first boat, we are now living on board our current home next to it, but this is our first Jeanneau and we have a lot of questions;)

It is probably best to start a new thread to ask for advice and experience from other Trinidad owners, as it may be lost here in this welcome thread. The Trinidad is a real classic Jeanneau, that along with the Espace series really set the scene for the later Sun Odyssey Deck Saloons The manual in English and French can be downloaded here www.jeanneau.fr/boats/sailboat/36-autres-modeles-voile/601-trinidad/ if you don't have a copy. If you are on Facebook, it might be worth joining the Jeanneau Voyage group www.facebook.com/groups/575934509444766 these were also a Guy Ribadeau Dumas design of the same era, more importantly Guy is also on that group and you might then be able to message him if you have specific technical questions about your own boat. Good luck and do keep the forum updated with your recommissioning. Malcolm

Hi everyone. I recently learned about the Jeanneau NC 895. I joined this forum to learn more about them and hopefully to guide my purchase decision. I read with great interest the discussion about blue vs white hull color, so I have already benefitted from your experience. One question that occurred to me is: where do NC895 owners store their trash (bottles, cans, etc.)? There's nowhere to put it in the salon, but I'm thinking that it should go in the storage area immediately outside the sliding doors so it is also reachable from the cockpit and doesn't create any unwanted smells inside the boat.
I'll be cruising out of Narragansett RI, where 2-4 foot wave conditions are common and the fog can roll in quickly. Southeast of Block Island, RI, there is literally no land for many thousands of miles. If you can find a globe, you could find a direction of travel that would take you Southeast from Block Island, around the South pole and start heading North again before making landfall on the South coast of Australia! Not surprisingly, then, lumpy sea conditions are the norm where I cruise, and my biggest concern is whether the NC895, with its high freeboard and hull shape, will be comfortable, dry and seaworthy in lumpy sea conditions and high crosswinds.
Hopefully I will be able to learn from you all about what the NC895 is really like before I make my purchase.

Hi timdaniel, Welcome, the 36.2 is a great boat, I used to crew on a sunfast version and was always very impressed by the performance. Also a comfortable cruising boat. The through hulls and seacocks will need replacing if they have not been replaced already. Thanks for the welcome! Yes, very much so, our surveyor identified two seacocks that were de-zinced and needed immediate replacement, which we did in the fall with TruDesign thru-hulls and seacocks using the collars. We will replace the others at the next haulout. We are getting a new mainsail and are just going over the rigging, replacing the spreader tips and re-coring the mast step. We want to make the boat bulletproof for cruising next summer.
