Hi Nanus, I was just looking at your bottom paint, and it looks like it doesn’t extend up to the water line. Both mine and Paul’s go up to and cover part of the scutter port and just below the engine well drain port. Did the dealer do the bottom paint? Hi all and hi Captain Ron,
Sorry to chime in on this post with some slightly unrelated questions but I've been reading through this threads and other posts and thought you guys might be able to help given your experience with the MF795. I am yet to buy but it certainly ticks a lot of my boxes and is so well laid out.
Firstly, I am wondering what its offshore fishing handling is like - specifically does anyone know what is the deadrise degree is at the transom and would you describe the chines as wide, narrow, down-turned, reverse or just regular?
Secondly, does anyone have a ski-pole added to their 795 to pull wake boarders/sea-biscuits around ?
Lastly, I am a little worried about the power - if I were to have a fully loaded boat for an inshore weekend away (full tank of water/fuel, dive equipment, 4-5 people, ice, fishing gear etc) the standard Yami 200hp 4-stroke I worry would not be able to cope especially when I need the torque to lift a wake boarder/skier out of the water and get up on plain. To remedy I've been looking at the Evinrude ETEC G2 engines. Do you guys know anyone who has an ETC G2 on their 795 ? Will it fit between the swim platforms, perhaps there will be space for a 225 or even a 250 so long as the transom is strong enough (weight is not too dissimilar to standard 200s)
Any help on this would be hugely appreciated Rob
Hi Rob, as information, in Europe the MF 795 is not approved for engines higher than 200hp I imagine that by weight and resistance to the effort of the hull, in Spain is not approved for distances greater than 12 miles regards, Nanus

Hi Rob. The links below are boat tests on the Merry Fisher 755 fitted with Evinrude E-tec 200hp and another with Yamaha 250hp. The hull is the same as 795. You might find that interesting. I certainly don't find the Yamaha F200 ever overpowered so if you have a heavy boat you might like a but more. 200hp is recommended max but there are 755/795 around here with 250hp. The transom deadrise is 18-19degrees by my measurement. The chines are reverse. I've been offshore a lot in fair weather and it goes well. It's a broad beam carried well forward which is good in a following sea but can slam a little in head-sea, trim tabs help a lot there. I haven't had it offshore in bad conditions. Anyway below is the first Evinrude link hope you find it useful. www.tradeboats.com.au/tradeaboat-reviews/boats/1311/jeanneau-merry-fisher-755-reviewHere's another review with the 755 Marlin (same hull) with a Yamaha 250hp in some rougher offshore conditions. www.tradeaboat.co.nz/reviews/1412/jeanneau-merry-fisher-755-marlin-reviewRegards, Paul

Hi all,
Just for info, bought MF795 few months ago with Yamaha 225. I was dissapointed when testing it with Suzuki 200 and didn't like to have Honda 200 as they prefer in our area. So the decision was made and have to say it is ok, nice going, no problems. Papers done without problems in Europe. Boat is ok so far. Propeler in my configuration is 17-M 14 1/4 - goes to 5500RPM. As boat with all equipment, personal things is preatty heavy, think that the decision for V6 is a must have. Honda 200 and Y225 have the same weight, head of Honda 200 is even a little bigger then Yamaha 225.

Hey Primoz, nice call on the 225. To be honest that is probably the right fit for this boat. It just wasn’t an option when I got mine. Looks like the prop is also properly matched. You will enjoy this boat!

Hi Ron,
It was not an option. We start talking with dealer and decide that this is nothing what may be destructiv to hull. My plan is to check the back wall and joints betwen the wall and hull from time to time. There was also a plan to change or add some papers from CE verificaton company. I have 20 hours, so far so good. We are located in Adriatic sea and plan vacation in august...

Hi delly,
Not allowed is just if we talk about the warranty. Compare the weight, size, torque,... of Yamaha; Honda, Suzuki (V4 and V6), Mercury,... The differences are less then 10% and I hope that the calculation made by Jeanneau constructurs were made much higher... Compare with Honda 200 mostly mounted in MF795 here around is no differences. Otherwise there is also a solution to make some construction updates from the inside and get papers from ce company...

Hey folks, here is some performance feedback on my latest adventure on the open seas. I took her out for a maiden voyage ocean fishing trip out of La Push Washington. Four guys, full tank (74 gallons), and fishing gear. Sea condition; 5-15kt wind with wind waves at 2-3', swells at 6' and time between waves at 10 seconds, so you can see it wasn't exactly smooth conditions. While I can say the boat handled superbly and stable, I will admit I felt the boat was underpowered making it difficult and at times impossible to keep up and get over the swells. I'm sure a 14 pitch prop would have been better than my 15 pitch prop, but I think it really needed even a bit more power. The following day the conditions were 5-10kt, 1 foot or less wind wave and 4 foot swells at 7 seconds, so conditions were better, but still struggled on the swells.
I was in a Yamaha dealership this week talking to the tech about the boat and experience and he mentioned he thought the boat is underpowered for the size and weight, and for those conditions. He recommended a 225 or 250. That being said, the F200 works fine for 90% of the boating I do in the Puget Sound, but if I would have had the option when I purchased the boat for more power I would have defiantly gone that route to make the other 10% boating more tolerable.
As a note, I did end up with an engine overheat alarm after running hard for 2.5 hours in head on conditions at 12 to 15MPH. Not sure what caused the overheat, but after I shut it down and cooled for 5 minutes I fired it back up I didn't have overheat issues again the rest of the trip. The Yamaha tech said the F200 can run all day in those conditions and not overheat, so he wasn't sure what could have caused it either.
Cheers, Capt'n Ron

Hi all!
New to forum, Have purchased a weekender NC 795 Series 2 with Yamaha 250 hp electric, zipwake to be available 2/2022. Tried to get a Mercury since I'm use to them, but no luck I'm dealing with a Yamaha dealer who has the boat coming. Here in SWFL have about 4 or 5 dealers but no one had a 795 that wasn't already SOLD! I'm in tune to props and difference in diameter vs pitch. I'm interested in max diameter of 15 with at least 14.5 pitch to get on plan without laboring being to heavy. Full tanks (gas & water) provisions and bodies it all adds up. Wish they had 300 HP!
Have not got much information on New Concept 795 S2 except I really think it will work for us. Examle of electric stove vs. gas. Heard with an inverter only way to run electric stove with seperate battery? Gas cabinet at side door is completly sealed? Changed order back to gas which can be used anywhere and might be lighter? Comments?
795 outboards should have 25" lower units and be mounted with lowest fin just below bottom of transom. What RPM/SPEED do these hulls start to plane?
Sonova proud owner of New Concept 795

Hello everybody
My name is Piero. I'm an owner of a Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795 (2016) and I live in Switzerland. My boat is actually equipped with a 100hp Yamaha (due to regulations on the lake). I have now decided to install a new Yamaha F200XCA2.
The F200XCA has a Gear Ratio 1.86 : 1 (Counter Rotating models: LF200XSA & LF200XC)
My question now is what is the best specification for a propeller (requirement Eco/Handling).
I hope that you can help me here.
Thanks and regards Piero
