We now have a new logo which included as the default the "2017 new logo" as the default Forum Theme, which will be visible prior to logging on and for all new members. However existing members will need update their profile settings to use, as follows: - Log In
- Click on the "Profile"tab on the navigation bar
- Then click on the "Edit Profile" on the top right of your profile page
- Then select the "Settings" tab
- Then scroll down to "Select Theme"
- Select "2017 new logo"
- Then confirm your choice - scroll to the end and click "Save account settings"
Happy for any feedback

The new logo looks very nice. Thanks to everyone who contributed.
Not so sure I like all the red text, though. Just my opinion, of course...

I like the new colour scheme - much more subtle and easier on the eye.

I agree, too much red ink....

Thx for feedback, I will try to come up with another option. I was keen to only use the blue red and grey.

Try "2017 new logo grey" It is not set as the default but I have now made a modified new theme where most of the red should be a dark grey. Happy for feedback - if anyone is a graphics wizard on css please let me know...

Cheers Malcolm for all your work, the site a real asset. I was not sure on the red text, but do like dark grey. Horses for courses I suppose .

Thx Ian
I have now done another tweak and now set "2017 new logo grey" as the default this can be seen if not logged in. I have retained the earlier schemes too plus, if anyone did like the red text ;-) it may still be chosen as "2017 new logo red" - the changes can be made in profile settings
cheers M

Looking good One issue I noticed is when using the forum on my iPhone the "new" is not very readable.

The mobile app I think is supplied by Tapatalk and seems to have very limited options to edit, can't get a logo to load, agree about the new too, anyone know about graphics on forum apps?

Hopefully some good news for Mobile users... I have just been on the main Proboards support forum This version 6 of the software apparently is expected to be rolled out quite soon, so hopefully, this will allow the mobile appearanceto be improved...

Hi Malcolm,
Thankyou for all the hard work on the logo. I quite like the red star with the blue circle.
Like others, I was not so keen on all the red text and like the dark grey better. I think I will stay with the old colour in my settings, I find it clear and easy to read.
There have been comments on both phone and desktop views. I alway read the forum on my iPad. I have not tried the tapatalk ap, and everything appears to work quite well with the default mobile version. While I read it almost every day, along with the daily paper, I only sign in when I want to contribute to the discussion, (I hope that does not label me as a lurker).
There used to be more options for a forum avatar, for a while now we have only had the question mark. Some alternative options would be welcome if practical, thank you. But still a great forum.

But still a great forum. rene460 Hi Rene Thx for the feedback, appreciated. Yes I will leave some of the old options for forum themes as I know people get attached to them. I certainly would not class you as a lurker in any sense, you are considerably more active than many. How people use the forum varies enormously, it is always good to hear from people, and after so many years I think it shows that jeanneau owners don't bite...But if folks just want to view that's fine with me too. As I posted above hopefully in a few months the new probaords version will be fully dynamic so will work well on all platforms irrespective of size of screen. Tapatalk has some pretty bad reviews, so if not using it at the moment I would stick with what you have. Thanks for letting me know about the very limited range of avatars - there used to be lots more, guess tehy were removed in some past global update. Anyway I have loaded up a few more - But it is really easy to upload your own bespoke image to use, which I think should be preferred. cheers Malcolm

Did not mean to push anyone's buttons with the lurker statement. I am on a couple of car forums and they are quite active. Years ago I had a medical issue and decided after to take on a car restoration. I could not have done it without all the active participants on those forums.
These forums can be a wonderful community. I love asking questions and getting different opinions on what worked for others. Usually I see a problem the same way as another, never with all, but that is what makes it informative.
Do not be afraid of chipping in. The more you put in, the more you get out. Just my honest opinion.
I have not even taken delivery of my new Jenneau yet, hopefully next week, but I look forward to the experience and sharing my ride.
And, these boards are a lot of work for some. Looks like Malcolm is the man here. Thank you for your efforts.

We are very fortunate to have a great team of knowledgeable moderators too, but Jeanneau owners tend to all be a great bunch that hardly need any chaperoning. Do post some photos of your Jeanneau when you take delivery

Hi Malcolm,
Thank you for your kind comments. I did not take the lurking comment too much to heart. I have also found as you say, that the other members don't bite and it is a great forum to be part of. In view of the range of languages spoken and differences in range and level of experience it is surprising there is not more discussion on some issues. Discussion that would provide opportunities for clarification. Questions a beginner asks can make the most experienced think more deeply about things they take for granted.
Regarding the avatars, perhaps I am a bit shy and prefer to be a bit anonymous, but if you see my boat in the distance you will recognise it. Thank you for the extra choices, perhaps I can find a spinnaker picture or something similar.
