Was on the boat this morning with the dog and decided to compete in todays pursuit solo. After a year of racing and hoping to get good start, today Eddie and I scored the equal best start of 1 second. Who needs a crew The bottle of wine is a better prize than the wine glass you get for a top 3 finish. Will use the glass I won last year when I drink it

Well done mate I’m about to head up to Sail Port Stephens this weekend for a week of racing with a crew more focussed on the apres events than I would like!

Well done mate I’m about to head up to Sail Port Stephens this weekend for a week of racing with a crew more focussed on the apres events than I would like! Thanks... My muscles are a bit tired tonight, having a crew the past year has ruined my conditioning. I'm taking my crew away this weekend overnighting down the bay. I will hopefully use it for some spinnaker training, depending on the wind direction and their beer consumption.

It's taking longer to sell Jessabbe than expected, but at least she's not being wasted like some boats that are on the market..

I did not race yesterday, but rather I drove the mark laying boat and took my camera along. To keep it Jeanneau related, this is the SF3200 we sometimes race against. My photos from the day featuring many yachts we regularly race against. stephenhopkins.smugmug.com/RMYS-Racing/Rundles-race-3/The fleet pre-start

On Wednesday, my uncle had his first twilight race on his 36i, Liberty, and Ron the new owner of Jessabbe did his first race.
The club totally screwed up our PHS ratings. Jessabbe last raced at 0.765 which was quite fair, but on Wednesday Jessabbe had 0.700. I suggested to the club that Liberty should start off with around 0.720, but we ended up with 0.670.
Jessabbe rounded the 1st mark and started pointed high to the 3rd mark rather than reaching to the 2nd before Ron realised his mistake. We lost the bottom 2 battens when we put the main up and raced with a flapping main.
The race was won by an Archambult 40RC that is entered into this years Sydney to Hobart. Liberty was just pipped at the post for the win, but the tower f***ed up giving us a 4th even though we were next to and clearly in front of the “second” placed yacht. Jessabbe came 6th, less than a minute after Arcadia.
If Ron hadn’t got lost and we didn’t loose the battens, it would have been a Jeanneau 1-2 and there would have been questions about the handicaps 😊
