Filmed using phantom 3 standard, all the editing and uploading a steep learning curve. Biggest worry is landing/catching the drone on the boat, come to the conclusion that minimum boat speed is the secret and a good catching admiral!

First mistake, when uploading if you tube says video is not stable and it says it will fix it, don't.

Phantom 3 standard Graciosa north of Lanzarote I,ve done some flying yesterday with friends Mavic Pro - and I'm seriously impressed, but still somehow want the GoPro Karma .... and also SERIOUSLY tempted for Phantom 2 Standard - incredible price tag !

Vasco, I don't really know the difference between the dgi phantom 2 and 3 standard but I thought about an upgrade to the mavic until I realized that the mavic is not easy to catch, nothing to get hold of, but you can disable the visual object avoidance. i will admit to a little experience (well 25 years) flying various military fast jets and large commercial jets but dgi makes the flying so easy, the stability is stunningly good, but they don't really have a flight mode for landing on moving vessels. my next attempts at on board landing will be in atti mode, where the gps positioning is not used and it moves with the wind, might be easier.
Untill I am much more confident at onboard landing I will not invest in a more expensive option. in the video I used the POI feature which is excellent , also next time I will use course lock, it might make life simpler. I have also had to learn editing, I'm using premier pro cs6.

At least in GPS mode you can fly parallel with the boat and you only have to deal with the boat moving around and not the wind affecting the quad.... Note: I never successfully landed a quad on my boat when moving because I was solo and every time I went to catch my ability to control the quad was poor whilst moving to catch and making sure I did not fall off If I was you I would stick with your current Phantom and upgrade when it sinks

Sorry I meant Phantom 3 Standard like yours - btw Mavic is soooooooo easy to transport and also you can buy foldable/removable landing gear that can be used to catch the drone .., have anyone consider the 3DR Solo ? I heard claims that it is water proof design...
