Here is a pic of the sliding hatch lock I installed on my SO 36i. Works very well and there have been no leaks (O-rings between the perspex and the shaft).

That is another very elegant solution. I like the way it can be operated from outside as well as inside.
Where did the hardware come from? Or have you made it or modified parts from another purpose?

I googled the levers and I think I found the exact same unit www.westerly-yachts.co.uk/index.php?manufacturers_id=32I assume that the blue bit is a lock, so you can prevent the outside lever from opening the hatch when you are sleeping.

That looks looks the fitting Hoppy, I disabled the locking mechanism as a safety issue. Those outside must be able to get inside. And Rene, I think most replacement hatch locking handles would do the job, this was what was available on the day and the price was reasonable.
