Gelcoat - the correct "white" for a 2014 Sun Odyssey 439?

Does anyone know what the colour code is for the gelcoat on a 2014 Sun Odyssey 439? I have a few nicks and scuffs to repair and I have previously used Plastic Padding Gelcoat filler but it comes up too creamy. I have spoken to a couple of specialist suppliers and they need to know the colour code/spec before they can advise. I have tried my Jeanneau dealer but without success.. Any ideas welcome.

Bizarre that your dealer can't /won't help - Jeanneau certainly do publish lists - although this one is for older models eg

This is really important - I would go back to them and be insistent they find out

The spray gelcoat that jeanneau provides to repair gelcoat is Ashland max guard np10503 the colour is Ral 9016, boat is a 2014 50ds.
i seem to remember it was mixed with around 10% poly cor patch aid 2671, before being sprayed.
gelcoat paste was also used but I can't find a photo of the tin.
and if anyone needs repairs to an anti skid panel, they supply them in 8' x4' sheets about 3mm thick, just cut to size remove the gelcoat diamonds from defective panel and glue new panel down, the join around the panel on the smooth gelcoat is easily made invisible.

Jim just to clarify, np10503 is the colour code that jeanneau use, the ral number is the same colour.
i just copied the numbers from a tin provided by jeanneau.

spk to Ian - if you have your HIN number he should be able to confirm you get the correct mix - from memory you have to order quite large (and expensive) quantities maybe 1 Kg - Ian should be able to confirm, he is very helpful and knowledgeable.

Recently I removed a winch handle holder, the gelcoat behind it was as white as it must have been 8 years ago (I own a 2008 45 DS). Quite a difference with the yellowing gelcoat around it.

Let's say you need to do a repair in the same cockipt surrounding, how to determine the type/quantity of pigment to add to correspond with the yellowing gelcoat?

Yes, it is a problem matching the original colour with the now slightly faded yellowy one but the boat is only 2 years old and reckon the original colour is probably a good starting point as any.

thanks ab - so np10503 is the same colour as RAL 9016? I can see a supplier of gelcoat repair kits that has a 9016 option which fine for the minor nicks I want to repair than buying a 1kg pot at £132.

Some years ago I placed the internet link of the jeanneau colours on this board .
Member Zanshin was smart enough to put them on his website as they are no where to find anymore.
I've found and publiced them during my search for a major repair job , I've ordered the gelcoat in Dunkurque , and they had to order a tin in the US. 1 kg is the minimum . Thought I paid around 40€ .
I can vouch , the colour is bang on .
Once you've slightly slightly !! sand away the yellowish old gelcoat the colours are exactly the same.
I was very supprised for that match .
The repair , on the nose ( bow) , so in plain sight is not visible at all.

Hi,

I've got some gelcoat coming for my SO37, it's from Jeanneau for the original hull colour.  Obviously it won't match 100% so i'll look at adding some tint to match the older gelcoat onboard.  

Any experiences with getting new gelcoat to match weathered?  A little bit of cream/yellow tint to it?

It is coming with catalyst, does anyone know what kind of catalyst I should get?  and the mixing ratios?

I will be using it to fill some small holes that held a cover in place and also i'm redoing the instrument console by the wheel so there will be some big hole filling (after glassing the back)
