Let's hear what you're all planning for projects on your boat this winter!
For my part: Adding a timer to the shower bilge pump, potting deck holes and re-bedding deck fittings with butyl tape. I'm also helping a friend re-core the deck on his O'Day 34.

Mike
I have just replaced the Volvo seal on my prop shaft. All went better than I hoped, did need a puller to get the coupling off, but glad it is now done for another 7+ years. Not many other significant projects (last year fitted solar panels and new stacking mainsail) so doing more domestic things like rebuilding our trusty (but slightly rusty) 13 year old Di Blasi folding bikes

No mayor jobs for me this winter. Only modify the backstay to have it adjustable. Next winter there will be more to do when the boat is out of the water.

It would be nice if you post all these things on the H&T . That way we can all enjoy and learn from your ingenuity. I'm always facinated by other people's ideas and skills. Euhhh Vasko , no winter projects ?? What about the electrical outboard ? C'mon , you made me (us) curious , deliver man Regards

winter projects. is it winter yet? thought it was not winter for another 20 or so day?
Well with that, today in a couple of hours with kids help, get hauled up the mast to put a lighted start on the mast, then next weekend the rest of the decorations for the holiday at the guest dock at marina. Going for the BEST decorated boat again.
Otherwise, small tasks, Like new wood pieces in ice chest so I fill in gaps to the foam seal.

I've really had it with the present installed disaster. Last september whilst entering the port of Kalibia (Tunisia) around midnight I took another hit on the P-bracket . This time my rudder got caught by a net positioned in front of the entrance. No markings of course . When trying to clear it , it strangled my shaft .It took me an hour , a full scubatank , numerous saw blades etc ., before I got rid of it. Again a rope , the size of a wrist this time , entangled the shaft between the rubbish cutter and P-bracket , not to speak about the fine-mazed net that covered the prop completely. Again I was lucky to get away without further damage. And again I defied the odds , but that will not last. Sooner or later it will cost me dearly. Regards PS: remember , a chain doesn't last forever even if you regalvanize it. Mine broke last year during one of the many storms and gales near Corsica. Use it for a couple of years , then turn it around . All depends on how much you anchor of course and what circumstances you do it in.

Sailbleu -- it looks like we can get spurs here so that is what I will put on. Marinateck owner here said he could get them in the diameter I need.
As for the chain it is for the back up anchor only. we have a fairly new - that should read unused - that we put on last year so for the primariy we are ok. It is just the back up that needs regalavized.

We have little to do in fact: New shaft cutter, replace Standing rigging, re-cut head sail and main, Replace watermaker ssensor, Repair overhaul both outboards, buy New Dingy, Engine maintanace, convert one head to washer/dryer, rebuild folding prop, replace tv, update the charts, bottom paint, replace All the canvas, redue the hawspipe, repack the liferaft, all the other stuff I forgot on this list! Not bad after 20,000 ocean miles and 5 years at sea! After all it's just Money!

We go skiing(actually snowboarding - I switch from ski to Alpine snowboarding some 18 years ago) in the German Apls - (Lenggies, Spitzingzee - near Munich) as we bought a holiday flat there about 10 years ago - great place , not crowded, free parkings amazingly done slopes - year pass is 280EUR for 5 resorts , cheap flights - I will highly recommend to everyone - I work from home - e.g. in the einter I try to be there every other week but as boat is at French/Spain boarder now close to Les Agles and Andora I will try them too as I have never ski before in the Pyrinees ...
