Yanmar overheating problems?

Bart has advised the following useful information about overheating possibly due the antifreeze used in his SO35.
We have had a problem with our new SO35 (launched March 2005). After 50 hrs the Yanmar 3YM30 engine started to overheat when cruising at 2900/3000 rpm for more than an hour. By simply putting the engine in neutral and revs at 2.000 the alarm buzz would stop after 30 seconds, however after another hour cruising it would go off again. We noticed that at least 3 other SO35s in the region had the same problem. Jeanneau/Yanmar dealers thought it had to do with the heat exchanger but could not figure out what it was until we found that this problem has occurred in other parts of the world with users of the 3YM30 engine.
Apparently the problem is the cooling fluid used by Jeanneau. Apparently the green anti-freeze carries some silicone compound that leaves a greasy film in the heat exchanger, thus reducing the effect of heat exchange. We have been recommended to wash thoroughly the closed cooling circuit and replace the fluid by Texaco/Havoline XLC coolant (Orange colour). It is important to clean thoroughly the heat exchanger tube stack. Please see links below for more info:

Also note that the following page is very helpful for those of us who have Yanmar engines in our Jeanneaus:

We have had similar problems with the Nanni 3.75 HE 21HP engine fitted to our SO34.2 I have twice cleaned out the green slime from the antifreeze side of the heat exchanger and am now trying a different type of blue antifreeze
