It seems the Goiot pedastal has two small 15mm conduits up the inside, which are woefully inadequate for the equipment I have on the Binnacle. Radar/Chartplotter, Speed, Depth, Wind and ST4000 Wheel Pilot. I have minimised the runs by using a Navbus/Raymarine NMEA junction boxes, and a central NMEA feed box, all in the binnacle pod for the chart table repeater and the RS232 connection back to the laptop on the chart table. This makes 11 connections going up or down the conduits, and the Radar plug is about 20mm across on its own. The connections for the wind speed and depth also have significant size plugs on them, so is difficult to squeeze these up the pipe. I am considering having a stainless tube conduit of about 40mm (1' 1/2 ") diameter closely following the Pedastal form, and then exiting through into the deck, and a hole form cut into the base of the binnacle pod. Someone out there must have had these issues before on a Jen? Mine is a SO35 with the latest deep pod binnacle.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
