Previously our MF805 has been lifted out and winterised each year. We've now moved to a new marina and will leave her in the water, with a brief lift out in the spring for antifouling, anodes, and engine service. Might even get the odd day sailing in the colder months <grin>. I wondered about fitting some kind of anti-frost heater running off shore power to protect the engine against extreme cold. Has anyone any experience or tips to share?

Hi, I used a couple of 40w thermostatic heaters in the engine space and the lazarette, about £20 each on eBay. Also I had a dehumidifier in the saloon draining into the sink, set at just drier than normal. This set up seemed to work just fine

In Scotland we have used a 500w heater that can lie on its back and dehumidifier draining in to the sink. The dehumidifier really makes a difference. Ian
