I've seen a lot of "scare" articles around about Greece published by trashy English newspapers written to scare people away from Greece (thinking mainly "Daily mail"). It's all just stupid what they say. Sure, it's a good thing that you have a few more euros cash with you than normal, but for the dirt dwellers, if your flights & hotel are paid for you just need drinking money and for cruisers, in a desperate situation you might need cash for supplies and fuel.... On a more positive vibe here are "49 Reasons To Love Greece". Admittedly no.1 is not a good thing for any of us who need something done and we can't find a foreigner www.buzzfeed.com/alexbesant/49-reasons-to-love-greece-jugk?utm_term=.ik47pYqQA&fb_ref=click_share#.idnEjyX9ZOh yeah, I disagree on 21, Mythos rules

Hoppy - agree with you. We are headed to Greece for a couple of months in a bit. But as you suggest take a bunch of euros with you as you may only be allowed to withdraw small amounts of cash from the atms and not very often.

Hoppy completely agree, just been to Greece and still have good friends and colleagues out there who report there is still no issues regards money or using cards out there, precautions obviously sensible but nothing really to worry about.....just make sure your insurance provides adequete cash protection...

From what I've heard, the €60 withdrawal limit does not affect foreign cards (rightly so) although we will probably be stuck in queues of Greeks trying to get their daily €60 spending money

I'd rather contribute by spending money, just like I did this evening taking the taxi from the airport back to the marina. Paid cash and no lights on the taxi meter (in 2 years and many taxi rides, never seen the meter on)
