My season started off with a bang for my merry Fisher 655. First time out after they had serviced my for and aft mooring I was hooked on the mooring ground chain by reversing without sufficient water. By the time I heard the banging and shouted to the wife the damage may have been done. So it's out again to have a look.
I changed to another mooring with water under me all the time.
The photo shows the Merry Fisher hooking system for the unwary.Attachment Deleted

Just to report that after going along side the jetty then waiting for the tide to go out prior to an inspection all is well and the propeller is undamaged. All I can see are marks on the shaft boss where the chain had been caught.
Some how the moon was not doing it's stuff very quickly on that day so we were not home before it got dark but at least there was another bill averted without a lift out by the boat yard.
