Hi has any one fitted a backstay tensioner to a SO 40.3 and has it made much improvement. Cheers

Hi, I rigged one for my SO37 (masthead rig with split backstay). It definitely makes a difference if you want to take slack out of the forestay for sail trim. As far as pointing noticeably higher, I don't think makes a huge difference. If you'd like to send your e-mail address, I can send some pictures of my setup.

Hi I fitted one to a 40.3 a pair of wire pulleys with a purchase system to pull it on it will definitely improve fore-stay tension and thus help with pointing ability we also fitted Barber hauler's to allow the head sail clew to be sheeted inboard this really improves pointing
