Does anyone have an idea of the PHRF for the SO 39i? I haven't been able to find any info at any of the PHRF databases on the internet.

Reality is, if you need a rating, you will have to be the first guinea pig to go get one. As that boat is WAY to new to know what it will be untill a few folks get rated, and sail them. I would swag in the low 100's. IIRC that is were teh SF 35's are, and the SO 39I may be close to them or a bit faster due to a longer WL. I would not give it much tho, considering SF37's seem to get beat boat for boat according to a few folks on here with SF35's.

I was the first, and perhaps still the only person, to have his 42DS rated in PHRF (SoCal and San Diego). The rating came in about what I thought, and I have been able to race to the rating. Contact your local PHRF office and let them know what you are doing. I provided my office the application, a brochure and data on similar boats. Several of the PHRF sites will list all the boats and their ratings. I tried to convince them that we were a replacement to the 43DS, which they didn't buy, We dud the Newport Ensenada in a class of a bunch of Catalina 42's, Beneteau 423's and a 43DS. We did a horizon job on 43DS as the raters said we should, beat all but one of the Catalina's and all the Benteau's. Several Hunters beat us. We have a very professional crew and finished in the top 25% of the fleet which seemed to me that PHRF did a good job if you provide them the data. The Socal phrf has a Jeanneau 37 rated at 138, the 44 at 108. I rate at 102. Steve

I have to admit to knowing nothing about PHRF (it's all IRC over here) but I would expect the 39i be quicker than a SF35. The SF37 doesn't actually have a longer waterline than the SF35 (official figures show it as 1" less!) but the 39i does.
I've only seen one out of the water (we have a demo model at our marina) and it looks quick - certainly sleeker than some recent SOs.

Do you have the polar diagram for the 39i I have one for the 39DS - same hull but less performance rig which suggests much quicker than the 35 The 39i with less windage and more performance rig should be even quicker

There is one 39i with a rating on the Chesapeake. Their rating is 138, and the boat has an asymmetrical spinnaker, shoal draft and a roller furling credit. It does not say what the base rating is, but that should give you some idea. The credit for roller furling headsails here is 6 seconds. The boat is listed near the bottom of the first page of the 'valid list' which can be found here: www.phrfchesbay.com/validlist.pdfHope this helps.

PHRF to an SO 39i Performance I don´t know but the IRC value is about 1.030 - a little bit high in my opinion, but .......... we will see (the boat is in land).
