Hi everyone,
I am looking for your advice please. I keep getting a small amount of water (doesn't taste like sea water) keep accumulating in the bilge forward of the galley, accessed via the the port floor inspection cover as you enter the forward cabin.
It isn't enough to trigger the float in the forward bilge pump, however, it seems to accumulate to about 1" sat in the bottom reservoir!
I have manually pumped it out and slowly over say a week it fills back to about an 1".
It definitely isn't the pressure relief valve from the storage heater as I have placed a container under the black outlet pipe to catch any discharge if any.
Please can you suggest what possible area's might be causing this and secondly, should I be aiming for a dry bilge all the time?
Regards
Howard

Not familiar with the Prestige 36, but if using a bilge pump that has a one way valve sometimes simply the water in the pipe slowly leaches back past the check valve. I tend to sponge out the water rather than use a bilge pump in case it is simply the pumped out water returning. other suspect items may be the fridge drain/condensation?

It is possible, if is fresh water clamp loosened. FW is under the pressure in the pipes. I've had such a problem. check the water level in the tank.

Hello Howard,
Water is usually a tricky one but if it is fresh water I am inclined to agree with damir that it could be a leaking pipe joint. The only other two options on the 36 are the hot water tank (which seems ok) or the holding tank which is located in the same area. If this has been used with fresh water flushing it is possible to leak out of the top flange although unlikely. regards, Napoleon

Hi All,
Many thanks for your suggestions.
I do believe this is fresh water I am seeing, but interestingly, it appears to never increase above the 1" mark and never sufficient to active the FW bilge pump.
If it were a leaking pipe joint, what do you think would be the first area of inspection and which access point?
Regarding the back flow of water from the bilge pipe, it hasn’t ever filled enough to have any water inside the outlet pipe so leaking back isn't likely to be the cause.
The fridge however, is permanently on, so I am not sure if this could be the culprit. I assume I would be able to see the drain hose (if applicable) from the fridge under the galley floor access panel?
Thanks so far with your advice.
Regards
Howard

Perhaps a weird thought: leaking of the shower drain pump?
