I have just purchased a 2 blade autoprop, which I will be fitting as soon as the better weather arrives.
Not sure about putting antifoul paint on such an expensive bit of kit. I have read about a new finish by Seajet paints, any thoughts?

Seajet doesn't work on boats that tried it at our club. We have a 3 bladed Autoprop inherited with our boat with antifoul which never works IMO. We removed the antifoul (wet/dry paper) and using grades of paper from 320 then finer and finer via 600 then 1000 grit and finally Brasso to get a bright polished finish. We have always polished our prop and find it works very well. When we lift out there may be one or two barnacles on the root of each blade but generally very clean, there is a sort of limescale on the blades which is easily removed with a piece of plastic (old batten) whilst the prop is still wet. Thereafter a quick rub with wet/dry and Brasso is all that is required, in fact I have just done ours ready for launch tomorrow!

Hi Robin Many thanks for this, sounds like I have saved £50... With the standard prop I had never antifouled, so will stick with that approach Fair winds Malcolm
