We have a SO45.2 2001 and are looking to replace the rubber insert in the rub rail/trim on the outside of hull just under the Aluminium scupper rail. It is perishing, loose and collects mould/dirt which causes black streaks down topsides of boat here in Malaysia/Thailand in wet season. Also will be replacing bracket that holds rudder bearing as we found out about via this forum. Received reply from ubuysa with some helpful photo's and info does anyone else have some or drawings of new bracket ? cheers

We also have a S045.2 2001 and have the same question so please let us know if you find an answer, and we'll do the same - i'm looking for a solution now.
And for the rubber along the stern too.
thx.

This is a UK company but I'm pretty sure they'll ship anywhere you need. This is where I got my new rubbing strake, though I was fortunate to have a friend visit them with a small piece cut from my existing rubber and they matched the profile very well. Perhaps you could arrange to send a small section cut from yours to get them to match it up? Worth a call anyway. www.sealsdirect.co.uk/index.aspRegarding the rudder bearing frame we had ours made locally using the old one as a pattern. Every single 45.1 and 45.2 that I know of that has checked their upper bearing frame (more than 10 yachts) has had to have the frame replaced. This was a dreadful design error on Jeanneau's part.

I did ours from the deck (we were out of the water at the time) using a rubber mallet and a screwdriver to ease the angled part of the rubber into the slot when needed. I left about 2 inches of additional length sticking out at both ends to allow the rubber to shrink and/or ease into a stress-free position, after a week I cut them back to fit.

If you need flexible rub rail, actually it is often made of synthetic rubber or flexible pvc,by some rubber extrusions suppliers, for example, this is a rubber strip manufacturer ,their website www.sealrubberstrip.combut they often do wholesale business,if you want to find similar profile, you can turn to local spareparts store or auto parts store, they may help you by supplying similar cross section profile rub rail item.

Hello, I've a 2000 45.2 and want to replace the rub rail. What size insert was required? Thank you for passing on the benefit of your hard work and knowledge.
