Ron, i am getting ready to pull my boat out for bottom paint and plan to enlarge the trim tabs at the same time. You mentioned you went from 9" to 12". is that the depth of the tab or width? Could you give me both measurements if you have that handy, or even the Lenco model # you upgraded to? That would be much appreciated. thanks, Mike

....talking about adjustments.... I have replaced the three standard wiper switches by one integrated. It is now possible to operate both wipers with a push on one button (single wiper operation is still possible), and I can choose two speeds, interval (3 speeds) and a wash-wipe sequence: almost the comfort of a normal car -)) In rain and spray I can concentrate on navigating now in stead of looking for those two wiper switches and pushing them every few seconds to clear my sight. Has anyone found a source for the small 12V circuit breakers used in the electrical room? I am adding a few accessories and will use some of the blank circuits if I can find the breakers. Also my Schieber touch screen went out in the first weeks of owning my NCC 14. It controlls shore power and generator functions, along with the gauge for water tank level. Does someone have a source for parts and info? My dealer has not been able to provide any source for this, even though it should be a warranty item. thanks, mike

Mike, I think you have the same fuses as the NC 11 has. If so: you can use the small flat fuses that you have in many cars: they fit and will cost you almost nothing. Here a Westmarine link to those: www.westmarine.com/buy/blue-sea-systems--ato-atc-fuses--P006557482one downside: keep some spare fuses in stock -)) As for the Schieber: if this is a warrenty issue: my experience is that those are quickly solved by Jeanneau: your dealer should do the paperwork to get you a new one! The fuses are more "exotic" then typical auto fuses. They have a built in trip mechanism that can be reset. regarding the Schieber touch screen, my dealer has had no success in 6 months....very frustrating. If anyone from Jeanneau monitors this I would appreciate talking to you about this lack of follow up. A new issue to mention. I took my boat out of the water for the first time . The boat had never been in the water previous to my purchase. It was in the water for a little over six months. I wanted to clean and paint the bottom. I am fortunate that I did not procrastinate in getting this done as I discovered a substantial electrolysis problem. One side of the boat had a loose grounding wire that tied to the transom zincs. The difference was incredible, the port side transom zinc was in like new condition while my port pod had obvious electronics eating at it. Total discolored and some deterioration on the surface. The bolts holding a step to the transom on the port had deteriorated metal 1/4 thru the diameter. The starboard side where the grounding wire bond was tight had a like new looking pod and a starboard zinc that was 2/3 gone. The zinc was doing its job. The same situation with the zincs attached to the props. Starboard zinc showed heavy deterioration, port zinc was like new. I would need a replacement pod in less then another six months if this was not caught. the loose heavy green wire was in the engine compartment and fastens to to stud that is on the transom about 6" above the bottom of the boat. One of these studs and wires on port, one on starboard. I suggest checking the nut on the stud for tight should be a regular inspection for all. I still love my boat!.....

Remko, Thanks again for sending the boat test from Norwegian magazine. I tested the boat with the new tabs this weekend. The weather was relatively calm 1-2 feet waves but they seem to drive the nose in deeper so I think it will be a good improvement. I attached a picture of "Volans" with her new dinghy on the aft platform and a new paddleboard rack which works great. One disappointment though. The hull has developed gelcoat voids which are post-cure issues. A dozen on the starboard side and two on the port side. I am still awaiting news from Jeanneau to see how they will help us through this. The local Connecticut yard I am working with have a very good reputation for paint and fiberglass repair and they recommend the most cost effective alternative is to repair and paint the hull. I will let you know how it all gets resolved. Cheers Ron

I'm just about to take delivery of my new NC14 and wonder how the standup boards strapped horizontally have worked for you. Does windage effect the boards underway?
Also, how long is your dinghy and how much horsepower did you get for the outboard. Wondering if a 12' or 13' foot dinghy is best and if it will get in the way.
Is there a better brand and davit to secure the dinghy to the swim platform?
Thanks so much in advance for any replies!

Mike Mike, I know the fuses are the ones with the built in trip mechanism but they have the same socket as the car type fuses. So if you can not get the ones with the built in mechanism you can use the car types: cheap and nasty -)) Regarding the Schieber: who is the main agent of Jeanneau USA? Have you contacted them? The Netherlands is a small country so we have only one Jeanneau dealer who also has the computer system to put warrenty cases in the system: that works very fast: for example: one of the door locks broke down last week: this week i have a new one sent by Jeanneau France. So I suspect that there is something more than the Ocean that is blocking communication between you and Jeanneau (The French are not over- enthousiastic fans of the Dutch so we do not have a priority treatment) The zinc issue is alarming: I do not have the problem but I am going to check anyway. After being on the North Sea with force 6 head-on, salt all crusted on the roof window afterwards...., but still planing without to much pounding, I love my boat even more -)) Remko

Both other owners here had some issues with the trim capacity: interesting to check that! We have Davits on our NC14 from UMT Marine. They are awesome, light to store and very quick and easy to remove if you want a pristine swim platform. Just unscrew the finger eye bolts by hand. Our Dinghy is made by AB Inflatables Nautilus 10VS model. It's 10'6" long and very light (170 lbs) stable and planes with 4 adults on board with a honda 20hp which is also very light 104 lbs so total package under 300 lbs which helps the boat run more nose down and smoother in head seas. Good luck Ron

Good luck Ron I also have the UMT chocks/ davits. I got the slide in and out version that is very handy. The davit slides in so the dinghy is tight to the transom when underway and then can slide back away from transom, hanging out behind the swim step about 12" to allow walking between the dinghy and the transom of the boat. Allows access to get to your power cord locker too.UMT FASHIONS both of the CHOCKS CUSTOM TO FIT THE exact shape of your dinghy bottom? I have the AB aluminum hull inflatable, I believe it is 11' with a 30 hp. I would say this is max but works fine. Have fun Mike

I have another small but annoying issue to seek advice on. My grey water tank is not automatically pumping out and then backs up into showers and beyond. I can hot wire the pump and it works fine.obviously that is not as convenient as automatically pumping. I assume it is likely some sort of float switch in the grey water tank. Any suggestions or experience in solving this? thanks, Mike

Mike,
If it's not too late to respond, I replaced my lid which has the float switch incorporated on it . It's all one piece and the replacement they sent me was actually a different model than the original and it has worked fine ever since. Hope you fixed your problem or this info can help. Good luck Ron
