I just finished editing the video from my sailing in Greece a week ago. As Usual I was away for a week and only got around to shooting video on one day.
I shot with both a Canon 1Dx and a GoPro Hero3 Black

Hoppy, great film. Now that is the sensible way to go up the mast, I also liked the underwater shots.
well done.

Thanks for sharing... I agree, the underwater and masthead shots were great!

Thanks for posting this. How did you attached the GoPro3 top and bottom to haul it up the mast? I've tried this but not successfully as you.

At first, I thought this page was broken, since I couldn't see any videos or links to videos. Then it occurred to me to try Internet Explorer rather than Firefox. It worked fine.
So if you don't see the video, try a different browser! Don

Thanks for posting this. How did you attached the GoPro3 top and bottom to haul it up the mast? I've tried this but not successfully as you. I had a small plate of stainless steel lying around (something like 15cm x 10cm) and fitted the GoPro stick on base. I had to tape up the plate to protect the sail. Perhaps what helped the most is that I had a halyard mounted on the outside of the mast for the passerelle that I dont use any more. Because the block is mounted to the side of the mast it meant that the SS plate sat flush with the mast. I can imagine that it would move around much more if I had used a normal halyard.

I didn't think of that arrangement, but it should work. I'll give it a try soon. Thanks! Brent

Next time I am at the boat and have time, I will make a curved back to the mounting plate in the hope that it make it a little bit more stable.
