I am looking for a Cutlass Bearing removal tool to extract the bearing whilst the shaft remains in place. I will be delighted to hear from anyone who knows an engineer (Southeast England) that is able to do this work or know where I can hire a unit.

Hi, once again thanks for your advise. I found an engineer with a cutlass bearing removal tool but it proofed to be ineffective. I discovered that Jeanneau fit a composite bearing, not a brass bearing which is a little more expensive - £20. Therefore when we fitted the removal tool and applied pressure, the edges of the composite bearing started to break down and therefore could not be pushed out. This resulted in the shaft being discounted from the gear box and removed, the old bearing being cut out of the P bracket and the new bearing fitted. Changed a two hour job to fours hours for each shaft.
