I have sent emails to all of the above noted addresses over two weeks ago and reminders this week....all with no reply. the 888-427-9676 number is "Being repaired" whatever that means! This is throwing up a BIG RED FLAG on this firm for me. I'll pursue it slightly longer.

Agree ! seems really worrying ! may be airbreeze managed to close them as the user manual that they sent me was actually airbreeze documentation.... is thete noone else on ebay selling a windturbine with embeded mppt controller ?

They finally answered today. I'll have to think about this one if it's worth my risk I cannot give any suggestions as I do not have the wind turbine from a long time and I use it only for short periods ... e.g. no real experience about durability, performance, reliability etc. my view when I decided to go for it was: 1. I sail mostly coastal and problem with the turbine will not affect me really - it is just a extra, toy and fun to install. The turbine helps me with the charging as I use A LOT of energy - REALLY A LOT ( watermaker, laptops, TV's, coffee machine , air con etc.) and I stay on anchor as I do not like paying marina fees 2. at price < £400 I'm happy to play with it and if it actually fails to put it in the bin... 3. I really use it not very often as most of the time my boat is at the berth with electricity and water from the quay e.g. in my case I consider it more like a toy and less like a vital equipment ... in CASE you need it for long passages I think you will be a lot better of with Airbreeze ot may be better with the duo one..

I can't find the comparison test that Vasko first posted but I found this www.barden-uk.com/PDFs/YM-Wind-Turbines-Feature.pdfAccording to the YM criteria, Airbreeze came on top, but it is wrong just to simply pick it as the winner based on the test. You need to look at the conditions you might actually be expecting where you sail. As I suspected earlier in this thread, the way Airbreeze's way of reporting it's output is different to every other brand to disguise that it's maximum output is quite poor compared to others (above 25knts = 13 amps whilst Superwind is 25 amps) Airbreeze seems to perform good up to 17 knts but beyond that it falls behind greatly. I think that if you are in locations where there is reliable strong prevailing wind, then I think a higher maximum output generator would be much better. I'm undecided of I need a wind gen at all at the moment. I think I will modify my arch to add davits and get the windgen mount added as well, but spend some more time cruising to see how much my current 200w solar comes up short supplying my daily needs. I'll probably be moving back to the Aegean and if I do decided I want wind, I will go for a higher rated gen to top my batteries up as quickly as possible when the Meltemi is blowing

the airbreeze has one future that is the one that pointed me to it - that it has a built-in mppt controller and do not need a drop load which simplifies everything greatly and the latest model is very quite compared to other - which is very important too
Aegean is great ! I sailed there 5 summers ...
my favourite places were : Aegina-Aegina, Perdika-Aegina, Poros, Vathy on Methana, Hyddra,Vourkari-Kea, Luotra -Kithnos, Merichas-Kythnos, Naousa -Paros, Ag. Nikolaos -Paros, Antiparos, Finikas-Syros, Ermolopi-Syros, Tinos-Tinos, Panormos-Tinos, and of course Santorini but difficult with the anchoring and mooring there
