Has anyone had this trouble with the Scheiber switchpanel on a SO32. My engineer disconnected the domestic battery while the master switch was on (probably not the best idea). When he reconnected the battery, all the systems came alive, e.g. navigation lights, water pumps, bilge pump, etc., all the small led lights on the panel were lit, but we were unable to switch any system off. The relays or diodes seemed to be operating but in reverse. The local Jeanneau agent said they have had this before and suggested we press all the off switchers together, before turning the power back on, but this made no difference. The problem appears to be the relays or diodes, my engineer could possibly understand one switch causing trouble for whatever reason, but could not understand twelve not working. Has anyone any suggestions?
Thanks Ken Lewis

You may want to contact ETA, if these are your breaker types. I had to remove one to ID the mfgr and they were responsive to my email. The person who contacted me in support of my questions is shown below. I had to replace over 5 breakers on my Scheiber breaker panel. Thanks Brain but I think my OS 32 panel is a different design to your OS 42. I have noted the company details in case they can help.

If you could let us all know exactly what your engineer did, why the battery was disconnected, it may help.

He disconnected the battery, admittedly with the master switch turned on. He was going to test the condition of the battery but decided to re connect it before going to get his tester. He did nothing more than disconnect the battery and re connect it again. What my engineer cannot understand is that if he blew the panel, nothing should work in theory, but every piece of equipment came alive. He has ordered a new panel, I just hope Scheiber (Part No 36.16200) is still in stock, has any one any idea? Ken

Ok Ken, not very much to go on, I would like to see this. My instincts are telling me to check that the battery connections have been refitted the correct way round and not reversed, or that the battery charger is on and the battery is just a box with no volts in it at all. But as I said I would really have to see the thing. Sorry cant be of much help.
OH and if you are sure its NOT wrong please don't change it to see what happens.

A further update on my blown panel. For whatever reason all twelve transistors in my Scheiber (Part No 36.16200) had blown causing all the relevant switches to be permanently switched on.
All twelve transistors were changed and re soldered to the board. The part number I used was: GB BJT NPN 45V 0.8A 3Pin TO-92 and I bought them from RS Components Ltd, PO Box 99 Corby, Northamptonshire. NN17 9RS. Tel 0845 8509922. The panel now works perfectly – till the next time!
